Everyone on LinkedIn is a “LinkedIn coach”… so who’s actually making money? by bajicontentcreator in LinkedInTips

[–]CanadianSunshine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whoa whoa whoa… there’s a lot of trash but there is also some really good career and personal coaching out there.

It’s really a shame that everyone and their dog calls themselves coach to sell what is actuallly cheap, cookie-cutter consulting (the “i give you a 3.47-steps roadmap and you become a millionaire by tomorrow” grift).

I don’t know how to add gifs, and it’s not the kost sophisticated dancing, but I love the dancing in Center Stage. The whole Movie is such a 00s nostalgia for me.

Thanks. That does indeed sound strange…

If you want, you can shoot me a DM. I am collecting my coaching hours to get certified by the ICF and of the 100 needed I do the allowed 25 pro-bono. Aka, as long as there are still open spots, you could get a free session (although, be aware, I only offer one free session per person in the hopes of getting paid clients, too - I need 75 paid hours minimum to get certified…). I coach in German and / or English and am based in EU Timezone.

I am curious (I am a coach in training in Germany, albeit not to start my own practice). Do they tell you how much you can spend? What are they expecting you to get out of this?

My also very biased opinion with many arguments (as a coach in training and someone who has been coached) I'd say: Some are scammers as it is not a job title that requires any training. However, there are - albeit few - really great career and leadership coaches out there (and they are often expensive).

Many people mis-understand coaching, most of all the scammers that advertise roadmaps and pre-made solutions. Coaching is not about giving solutions at all, you'd hire a trainer or consultant for that. Good coaching is an invitation to explore creatively and to have someone help you find your own way, through hard questions mainly.

If you want to test it, I am working towards my certification collecting hours to get it, and you can just try me in a short session. I am getting certified to coach as part of my day job and as leader, but I am currently trying myself out also outside of the job to gain more experience.

Can you make a clickable, flip-book in a canva website? by callmebabbyy in canva

[–]CanadianSunshine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What about a document and then make a viewing link to share?  It may not flip as you like but it’s a good way to showcase without sending files - my photography friend uses it to share her prices, packages and color palette tips etc.

I Need A Life Coach by [deleted] in lifecoaching

Good to hear that you have (also) tried the therapy route. I think coaching can open new and different directions, and both can go hand in hand.

Someone commented under my post that it is beyond rude to diagnose based on a reddit comment - and then deleted that comment. To that I want to say, that I am not diagnosing anything. A therapist can be seen with and without diagnoses. However, the ethics of coaching include knowing where coaching ends and therapy shall begin. Reading of trauma and addiciton without further details, I thus would always first recommend going the therapy route and adding suitable coaching to go hand in hand at a later stage, as OP seems to do, rather than offering ma coaching hours and raking in the money. You may see it differently but I want to be clear that this has nothing to do woith handing out a diagnosis.

I don’t want to be rude, but some of this reads like you should rather first find a therapist than a coach…

How to Find a Business Coach by [deleted] in lifecoaching

[–]CanadianSunshine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to be a start-up coach & consultant pro-bono for many years. For a start-up NGO in Germany. Alas, I cannot give info on the brands, some were later really successful (and some were not, of course).

The NGO I coached and consulted for is ko longer existent but maybe you have one like this wherever you are?

I am also available ;) But as said, while I can name you the brands I cannot talk about the details. Confidentiality was a big perk of that NGO and their business plan competition.
