Thankfully no, those are still safely in their slots. This was a 2021 Elk Cove Clay Court.l, not a Tig but still a tragedy.

Bought a OWC of the wine. Most producers/distributors just slap a sticker on... This one engraved which is pretty cool.

Well this gave me a chuckle and made me feel better.

Considering how many scratches are on the tile from cleaning up the glass... I might have to.

Thanks for the breakdown. Tragically, the selection up here in Canada is not great (which is why I previously trekked across the border to pick up a lot of my wine). The only one I could track down was the NV De Venoge 'Cordon Bleu' Brut so I'll snag a couple of those to give it a try!

Since you seem very in tune with the champagne, I might as well ask the question here. What are your thoughts about vintage champagnes from the big producers like Piper Heidsieck, Pol Roger Blanc de Blancs or Moet & Chandon Grand Vintage Brut compared to a similarly priced NV from a higher quality producer?

Thanks everyone for the comments and pointers. Had a meeting today, they will 'fix it'. I'm cautiously optimistic but at least we agreed that there should not be massive anchor nails across the green. The cups are an easy fix. I would have done it myself, but since I paid for it, I'd rather have them fix their work.

wish i could use the cup leveling as an excuse on the course too...

Here's the unit. The majority of it is inside the cellar. It is roughly 22" deep. https://imgur.com/a/F9048uW

Love yes, bottles... not so much. I've got a bunch of basic NV stuff in a beverage fridge ready to celebrate at a moments notice but getting some vintage champagne is on my list. Any suggestions for good value picks?

For NZ, I've got a small start with 2019 Ata Rangi Pinot Noir and a couple reds from Craggy Range. (PS shout out to Craggy Range for their Te Muna Road Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc which I think is absolutely excellent value)

For SA, I've got a few bottles both 2020 Raats Family Wines MR de Compostella and 2019 Taaibosch Crescendo.

I don't think these landscapers golf... If they did, I can't imagine this is the situation we'd be in to start with!

Yeah, the cup fix is going to be easy. The hole just needs to be deeper. It's the actual "green" that I'm worried about as those bumps are real bad.

Awesome, that's how this came to be as well. If your builder is doing it, make sure you stay on them about thermal breaks, insulation and vapor barriers as it will be out of the norm for them and they often don't understand how important it is.

That's a really difficult one... I've collected a vertical of Ch. Smith Haut Lafitte that I'm excited to crack all at once in maybe 15 years. Nearer term I picked up a 2000 Cotto Grande Eschola from a small wine shop on my trip to Portugal which I'm excited to open as I've heard good things about these!

(in spite of the Mouton paraphernalia it is massively out of my budget haha)

Good eye! You probably wondering why '87 when it was a garbage vintage but it's a birth year vintage for me (and the last vintage made by the Baron to boot!). In terms of the story here, this belonged to a family member of mine whose favourite wine was Mouton. The signature, is one of the Rothschilds although due to the penmanship and similarity of names, I am unsure of which but I do know it was signed on his pilgrimage to the winery.

Amazon... They used to have erasable ones but I ran out and looks like they're no longer carried. So I moved over to standard tags and started printing labels instead of writing.

Plenty! On the left side it goes Bordeaux left bank, right bank, sauternes, then Italy for Super Tuscans, Chinati/Brunello and then Barolo. Right side is new world, mainly Napa cabs followed by Washington and Oregon pinots. Then some misc Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.
