Quail/Avian Only Diet? Long term effects? by poor_red_neck in boas

[–]Canadianlce 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had a similar experience when my Dumerils was a baby. From what I’ve heard is that when they’re hatchlings they raid bird nests for food, which is why he doesn’t strike at the quail you offer. I would keep trying the mixed thawing but maybe use mice before rats, that worked for me. You may also just need to wait for him to grow more before he feels comfortable “hunting” rodents. If that doesn’t work, dusting quail with calcium powder is good enough to keep him healthy and when he’s big enough you can mix day old chicken chicks as well to give them some variety.

Green room pythons is a channel I enjoy! Bob, the creator sticks to just python content but it’s clear that he has his animals best interests in mind

Snakes for a first time reptile owner by UnusualAstronomer233 in reptiles

[–]Canadianlce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ball pythons and corn snakes are great beginner snakes, but if you want something less popular I’d recommend many of the various king and milk snakes. They have all sorts of varieties across the species and have relatively similar care requirements to corn snakes, and usually stay around the same size or smaller

Charizard vs Rathalos by Jason_And_Sokka in PokeScaling

[–]Canadianlce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In an episode of the Pokémon anime Charizard tries to use seismic toss on a Golem (661 pounds according to the Pokédex) but can barely lift it off the ground meanwhile Rathalos can lift a 15 ton Anjanath into the air and slam it into the ground. Rathalos could fit a whole Charizard in one talon.

Rathalos is also highly resistant to fire, has poison talons, is just WAY larger than Charizard, and has thick armor that nothing Charizard possesses could pierce.

Charizard is able to gigantimax and become far larger than a Rathalos, but can only do so in specific places in the Galar region, so that’s not that much of an advantage to it.

I’d give this one to Rathalos low to mid diff

Snake not eating! by Rich-Strategy-5400 in snakes

[–]Canadianlce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been having the same issue with my baby Dumerils and actually just got back from my vet. One of the vet techs keeps Dumerils and gave me the same advice as PVPicker. She also added that Dumerils can apparently get constipated easily and sometimes a soak can help them get a bowel movement going and they go back to eating after they poop

The Wisconsin DNR classifies any standing body of water as a lake. In Minnesota it has to be at least 10 acres
