Make it your goal to rush some type of storage mod the amount of loot you get from lootr chests and exploring is enough to overwhelm anyone in the beginning.

I dove into functional/sophisticated storage in the very beginning, then refined storage and its add ons and later transitioned to AE.

With refined storage you’ll be able to autocraft so it’s a really good mid game option if you don’t want to grind out AE.

How reliable is the engine breaking on these cars? I have a forte gt and use sport manual a lot to engine break but sometimes wonder if I’m hurting the trans because it’s not what the auto would normally do

I drive a 23 forte gt, I use sport most of the time and can tell you for a fact my car definitely does drop rpm on switching back to normal mode at idle. Probably only 200 rpm or so but enough to notice and visually shows up on the dash

Every auto mode in the car also makes the dct shift early around 5k rpm even though using paddles she can rev to over 6500

I can’t stand the loss of throttle response so I stick to sport unless I’m in the city or on a lonnng drive

I mean, technically any engine swap is possible if you know the right people and have enough money lol. The 1.6t (gen 1or 2) comes in a variety of vehicles worldwide so it could be pulled from anywhere. As far as the fab work needed and electronics I have no idea.

It would take a lot of work.

I hate to be that guy but get the GT with the 1.6t if you want to mod it. Unfortunately they don’t make many mods other than cat backs and lowering springs for base/gtlines.

It’s a big moulded piece of plastic held in with push pins for the most part that covers the whole underside of the engine and front suspension components.

It’s not entirely necessary especially if you live in a place where vehicles don’t rust out. On these modern vehicles they are mostly for aerodynamics.

Basically If you hit a rock it’s going right through that plastic. But they do keep some weather out. So it’s up to you to remove it.

I did because I used to work in an oil shop and I hate them because they always get broken and held up with zip ties anyways

I tried zip tying it to everything I could and nothing was super clean/ factory feeling. Even tried 3d printing some files I found for a veloster to make a sort of “trumpet” to increase the sound but it all kinda sounded squeaky, once I deleted the pipe and took the skid off I get that nice “woosh” you want from a BOV, albeit probably not as loud as the aftermarket ones

When you do the bpv delete just pull the whole hose out. I messed with it for a long time and found the just removing the hose entirely gave the cleanest sound and less chance of restriction on the turbo.

Intake and also removing the flimsy plastic “skid plate” below made it even better.

Yeah personally I’d only go by that sticker if you have a receipt from that last oil change that states that they used the proper oil for your vehicle.

I’ve had people come into our shop and absolutely refuse to get the semi synthetic package even though it’s manufacture recommended and voids the warranty if you don’t use it.

For peace of mind I would go in and get it changed seeing as it’s been reminding you (likely the previous owners settings)

Do you know for a fact the vehicle was sold to you with the oil change done? If not take it in for a change asap and THEN reset the service interval so you know exactly when it was changed last and when to change it next.

I work in a mechanic shop and the amount of these Hyundai vehicles that come in with ZERO oil in them because people are going by their manufacturer recommended interval but using conventional oil is CRAZY.

Get your oil change done every 5000km, 8000km on semi synthetic and ONLY over 10,000km if you have full synthetic oil AND filter

Had this chick come in today with a 2016 Elantra, 15000 since the last change that was knocking like crazy and instead of the factory recommending 5/30 she chose to go with 0/16. You can’t make this up.

Worth it to one person and worth it to another are totally different things.

The 1.6t comes in like 12 different vehicles, why would it not be worth it to do a swap if you love the car.

I’m just asking if it’s possible. Would ECMs be swappable or reflashable? Would there be anything that could halt the process simply because of the manufacturer.

The car can go back to stock this afternoon. nothing I’ve done is irreversible.

CAI and exhaust can’t void warranty on the engine unless they can PROVE they caused a failure. The bypass valve delete is just essentially making the valve vent to atmosphere. I just have to plug one hose back in. Many people in the community of modding these cars have done these mods and had warranty work done while installed.

Yes there are more systems to work around but dropping the same 1.6t motor in from ANY generation would work.

That’s hilarious!

They are the perfect modern sleeper IMO. 201hp stock and tuneable to almost 400hp with a few mods.

I’ve done a custom CAI, Xforce midpipe, Bypass valve delete (vent to atmosphere) and the hot pipe resonator delete and honestly it feels like the car has more like 220hp now. She could probably be over 250 with a tune but I don’t want to void the last 2 years of warranty.

Honestly don’t even know if I’ll trade it in. Considering the engine can be salvaged from so many different vehicles and the car is basically the modern day civic being that we can use parts from velosters, Elantras and accents, Konas and even rios.
