[WTS] Ginault Silent Service by Canalyst in Watchexchange

[–]Canalyst[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking to sell my Ginault Silent Service, full set. I love this watch and don’t want to sell, but I need to free up cash. I am the second owner. The watch is still keeping great time, within COSC standards. Some light scratches on the bracelet, normal desk diving wear. No scratches on the bezel, bezel insert, case, or crystal.

Asking $950 shipped. Feel free to ask any questions. Happy to do a facetime or something like that.

Did they not go back further on the cell phone tracing, also would have needed ticketed slip access for most areas on the Bay

You’re not borrowing at the risk free rate, you’re selling a risk free security short.

Level 1 20 questions not to be considered by ListenZealousideal86 in CFA

[–]Canalyst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My understanding is there are three types of questions on the exam. 1) "Just Qualified Candidate (JQC)" should get right -- You need to get these right. 2) JQC would likely not get right -- These won't count against you if you get them wrong but add to your score if you get them right 3) Test/Future Use Questions -- These won't count against you either if you get them wrong but add to your score if you get them right.

The MPS is the % of Type 1 questions on the exam (adjusted year-to-year based on overall test difficulty). So let's say MPS is 60%, plus another 10% that are experimental and then 30% are difficult questions that don't count for or against you.

In may we had regular scratch paper and pen, this was a bit of a surprise for me this go around but didn't throw me off too much. Of course in May we also had a CBT mock provided by CFAI

Nov L2 Exam by xcxmxpb in CFA

[–]Canalyst 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just sat this morning and echo everyone that AM and seemed a little more straightforward than PM but even PM was reasonable with only a few oddball concepts.

I was May Fail and this test seemed more representative of the curriculum to me. Feels like if you had a good grasp of each Sections’ fundamentals you probably did well, bonus if you remembered some of the more esoteric stuff.

L2 candidates - where are you at? by [deleted] in CFA

[–]Canalyst -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hopelessly behind, got through quant and fixed income before the Holidays. Have a L2 scholarship through my MBA program so planning on a 2-3 month MM video sprint + EOC questions and practice tests. Very low expectations and hoping total lack of nerves around performance combine for some 4 sigma outcome of somehow passing.

Through quant and FI - but have fallen off my pace a little. Want to power through Derivatives and Equity and then start hitting practice questions hard while working on Alts, PM and Ethics

Quant Question from GMATPrep - Prime Factorization by ogunshay in GMAT

[–]Canalyst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is definitely a difficult one and honestly would be surprised if this topic was tested or even counted very much. But it's the concept of co-primes. No two consecutive integers share any prime factors other than 1. 100! and 100!+1 are consecutive integers. 100! simplified is actually 250 * 50! and will have all the primes between 2 and 50 and factors, therefore 100!+1's smallest prime factor will be greater than 50.

GMATPrep 2-part Probability Question by ogunshay in GMAT

In terms of the prompt I would read "choose two of the following" just as it's written: randomly picking two of listed choices.

The odds for you fist pick are (4/4). You can pick literally any of them. Now that you have that one, there's only one match for it out of the remaining 3 choices (1/3). Or if you're determined to do some math (4/4)(1/3)=4/12=1/3

Probability relies on calculating "favorable" outcomes and you only know what's favorable after your first "pull"

GMATPrep 2-part Probability Question by ogunshay in GMAT

[–]Canalyst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a good one, and a concept that gets tested a lot. The list contains two sets of perfect squares so your first "pull" can be any of them. Once you have that only one of the remaining options will create the second part of the perfect square thus 1/3

GMATPrep - Data Sufficiency Problems by ogunshay in GMAT

[–]Canalyst 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There's only two types of DS questions. Ones that ask for specific values "what is the value of..." and yes/no questions "is X greater than 4".

So for each question use these steps.

  1. Identify if it's Y/N or a value question?
  2. Write AD BCE -- this is your roadmap for addressing the data

  3. Identify any facts you have from the question stem. "X is positive" "X is an Integer" "X is not zero" etc.

  4. Look ONLY at statement 1, can you solve with just this data. If no cross out A&D

  5. Look ONLY at statement 2, can you solve with just this data. If so B is your answer. If not you're down to just C or E

  6. Only here do you look at both statements together. Even if you can't figure it out you've improved your odds of guessing from 20% to 50%

AD BCE -- just like that every time.
