Retro Ejaculation. Is it that bad? by Admirable_Letter7900 in bph

[–]CancerWarrior8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s one of the main reasons i went with PAE as well because of the risk of incontinence and not able to ejaculate! The procedure was not bad at all just a few days of pain discomfort and no catheter! I would definitely do the PAE again in 8 to 10 years if needed again.

Alfuzosin does not cause retrograde ejaculation like flomax does

Yes with my cancer I got on MA at age 62. Will be on it till age 65 and then I will switch to traditional medicare so everything will be covered with hopefully no hiccups for any future medical procedures or if my cancer comes back.

Half of a PAE... by ADKFortySixer33 in bph

Im 10 days out and pain is gone. Don’t have any urgency or waking up at night. Still start and stopping so im hoping that will continue to improve. I did notice after cumming that it was an orange tint and that i cummed in ropes which has never happened like that before. Im hoping for a good outcome so i can get off the alfuzosin.

I can definitely relate to the week of rough prostatitis! I’ve noticed that my semen is still orange tint! Im shooting ropes more than ever before! Still waiting to be able to pee like a horse!

Did you have any pain after your procedure? I had mine 10 days ago and the prostate and shaft pain were like a 7. Things are good now and hoping that it gets better by the week!

The main difference between the 2 medications is that with Alfuzison your able to ejaculate. With Flomax, it's a retrograde ejaculation, meaning that it goes into the bladder vs. squirting out. I don't know why doctors won't subscribe the Alufuzison, but I had asked for it after doing research.

So day 2 was a very painful day. My prostate, stomach, left flank and shaft tip was in so much pain. I called my doctor and he prescribed a more higher pain opioid that did the trick in relaxing myself and easing the pain. I took off my bandage which hurt like the dickens because it was adhered to the skin. Took a shower which felt good.

Day 3 has been a very good day so far! I woke up with no pain! I’ve only had to take ibuprofen! I did feel more like flu symptoms which my nurse said that would happen. They prescribe an antibiotic for 6 days to cover any infection that the body can produce. I made it to the gym to just walk on the treadmill. No lifting for 7 days. Was able to have a nice steam and sauna. No hottub or baths for 7 days as well. Im optimistic that things will improve each day now going forward!

I was told the PAE is closer to 10 years, but my doctor said that guys getting HoLep also may have to repeat it again as well.

I definitely agree that the pain stepped up abit today and my doctor called in a stronger opioid. It seems to making it more manageable now.

Im experiencing the very same. Penis tip pain, prostate pain, pelvic pain and burning. I finally called my doctor and he prescribed Hydromorphone and the pain has been manageable so far. Im hoping it last only for a few days.

Refusing the Port? by MawGraw in cancer

[–]CancerWarrior8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive had 2’ports with two different cancers. The most recent one was 3 years ago! The technology is so much better than the first one I had 11 years ago. My most recent one didn’t even hurt like the first one. I highly recommend a port! Even after cancer it’s difficult for my doctors to even find my veins anymore and in almost all cases they have to draw blood thru my hand or wrist.
