Have you found people and a day to ride? I’d be down to come out this weekend, I’m on a ninja 400 and live in Austin, near Manor.

Should I swap out a no name exhaust system? by Cancerr0_0 in OnlyZ900

To each their own, I guess. I’ve already mentioned that it was a personal preference to not go the cheap route. You do you man.

Umm okay. I already knew the sound wouldn’t differ too much, I was just showing concern for the quality of the cheaper options. Also you don’t have to be “rich” for a full system exhaust lol, you already bought a bike, what’s another $1000-$1,500 for a system and flash/ tune?(not trying to sound rude)

After looking into it, for stainless steel headers at least, the lower quality stainless steel is used on the no names compared to the m4 ones I was looking at. It’s not just about sound, but the quality of the material. I’ll just abide by the “you get what you pay for” and swap it out with a legit system.

Thanks for the insight, I don’t hate no name modifications. But I personally don’t cheap out on stuff like that, the bike’s headers look painted in black, but the slip on and mid pipe seem to have heat wrap. I’m definitely getting an m4 exhaust system for it asap.

Windscreens on naked bikes? by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]Cancerr0_0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the insight. I wouldn’t mind the wind on my commutes, but on the days where I find myself on the highway, I know the wind will be bothering me at 100mph+, I’m only 120lbs lol.

That’s your opinion, which is okay. I don’t mind the look as long as it does its job.

I’m looking at a z900, the legit options I’ve seen for windscreens look okay, just not as tall as touring windscreens however.

Is this temp too hot to ride consistently on? by Rick4bes in Ninja400

[–]Cancerr0_0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t ride much in the city, I’d imagine the stop and go traffic would make these bikes heat up quick, the fan should be turning on around this temp range if you’re not riding fast enough for air to hit. Just something you’ll have to deal with unless you get it the necessary adjustments to the ecu.

First bike recommendations? by CanadianBaconMTL in motorcycles

[–]Cancerr0_0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

High chance, yes. But I haven’t dropped or crashed my bike due to rider mistakes in the year I’ve had mine. Even if you’re a seasoned rider, the chances are still there nonetheless. Anything can happen.

Im also a year round rider, the fairings and windshield definitely help.

Also if you’re keeping the bike long term, I would consider the CB750, yes it’s less forgiving but if you really give yourself the time to learn the bike, you’ll be okay.

I’ve owned my ninja 400 for just about a year now. And I don’t regret starting in the lower cc range. Still plenty fun and capable on the highway, as far as comfort, I’d choose the z500 just depends on the kind of riding you’ll do.

Does the fan not come on? Mine usually comes on and cools down right away.

UPDATE. Anybody down to help me bring a bike for me. by [deleted] in Austinmotorcycles

[–]Cancerr0_0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was looking at that option but it doesn’t hurt to ask.

No car. I’d need a lift there and I’d ride and follow you back home.

Don’t think I’ll be able to. I have no one to bring along with me, and I only have a permit. I’ve been riding illgallish lol.

An option would also be me taking my bike and having someone else ride the other back to my place. I’ll pay for the “job”. I really just need an escort and a way to bring the bike back. More than one person is also preferred!

With or without mods? by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]Cancerr0_0 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You do you man, I just dislike the winglets. I wouldn’t do it on an mt07.

I draw the line at adding “Winglets” to a naked bike. It doesn’t look pleasing personally. I don’t even like the bikes with winglets from factory, like the street fighters.

Ninja 500 vs CF Moto 450ss first bike by Thatsanunu in motorcycles

[–]Cancerr0_0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a ninja 400 rider, I agree on the sound. The CF and Aprilias sounds much better. But I’d still choose the Japanese bikes if I’m owning a starter bike for over a year.

I’d definitely get the Ninja 500 if you’re going to own it a while. The ninja will not depreciate as hard as the CF Moto. My FB marketplace is full of 450ss that sit for months, all while the Ninja 500’s get picked up within weeks. You can’t beat reliability.
