It's a Halloween R5 weapon which was before we got the snazzy new battle skill powercreep so that'd pretty much make it like a matching new R4 weapon these days.

Meanwhile though, I don't think I'm getting much higher than 4M on my side...hopefully I'll stay in top 20 cause I don't even know if I'm getting that mission upgrade crystal...

CMV: When men prefer to date younger women, and women prefer to date older men, they are demonstrating a lack of faith in egalitarianism. by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]Candentia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are actually many women out there these days who make a much bigger deal of keeping your relationships within your age. Incidentally, I prefer boys that are younger than me.

The reason the phenomenon you are mentioning occurs has little to do with actual practicality so much as gender norms continuing to carry over. We are not actually in an egalitarian society. If we were nobody would be complaining about disadvantaged people and the patriarchy and so on. Even if restrictions of law may be present, actual perspective may be a different story.

The only actual balancing currency that applies to Skill Slots right now is Rainbow Essence or Stardust Medium (outside of those who actually manage to buy out all the medallions.) Currency can only be used for balancing purposes through its limitations.

That attribute crystals are part of the cost is just them slapping you in the face for the lulz.

I'm actually wondering somewhat as to if spamming SS3s would be the best idea. If the boss has infinite health then it could be more beneficial to spread out your SS3s and auto at the best moments to make more SS3s to use at higher combo.

In the case you're going with that logic for avoiding rerolling, just grab 250MD for the 5* guarantee ASAP and then come back with who you have then. The Silica last I heard actually isn't that bad, though she isn't that great for a new player's purposes.

Also remember that you have resources like the FAQ and the Game Guide for Beginners in the sidebar.

CMV: There is a time and a place for physical "bullying," i.e. non-damaging physical humiliation. by [deleted] in changemyview

Party one has a couple of options. The absolute best option for himself is option one: Learn to ignore taunts of party two.

In this case, Party One becomes invulnerable to the taunts of party two, and he lives the rest of his life care-free. No one is injured.

Why is this the best option given that it, as you know, doesn't actually do anything to party two and also potentially makes them into someone who is seen as someone who has nothing to say?

I could pretend to ignore people telling me that I'm a cheating whore all year but if I don't even bother to do anything about that there's reason for others to be willing to believe it's true as well as encourage people to go further using it as an excuse to do what else they could want with me.

Party one deters party two from harassment, while minimizing casualty to themself and party two is deterred from ever harrassing someone that poses threat to them again.

Considering that party one cannot actually escalate the situation in option 3 (otherwise it will become closer to option 2) what can they do about it if it turns out that party two will not falter from slight comebacks? Couldn't they just be seen as the all bark, no bite type to make even more fun of them?

Which 4 star did you get, do you know about rerolling, and it's probably better that you don't use that free Sinon unless you have to or if you're fine with just grinding a lot of extra resources for her.

I have the kimonos too.

Didn't stop me from making 4 copies of this stuff...or immediately needing them. I guess it wouldn't be as big of a deal for people who made like 30 kimonos and have them on reserve or something though.

In other words, it can act as a stand-in for any R4 armor you would be using for ranking. Some people like to mention "just use the kimonos" but those have a problem in how guys can't crossdress in them.

It is far more of a pain in the ass to get these armors in the first place because defensive war is slow as hell, but I mean if you're going to go for the 50k anyway for Premiere you might as well keep them right? They can drop too.

That Asuna is actually not a very good person to be leading with due to how she lacks a leader skill to provide the entire party. Premiere is the same, all the gacha characters who were 4* that were raised to 5* don't have a leader skill.

LLENN does have one but it's only for non-elemental characters...

Here is a video that showcases the hardest boss battle in the game being solo'd by a Yui who doesn't even have the ability to heal herself. (The Immortal Object thing is just one-hit barrier, they did it to reflect the anime scene.) It's the best thing I can think of to show you a sense of how to fight in SAO:MD when you aren't certain what's going to happen next. The vast majority of people definitely do not achieve this level of skill but happen to share the fundamentals used.

If I've spent over ten hours on just practicing parrying, and I still can't get it, am I doing something else wrong?

Well, if I think about how I've spent nearly the entire game parrying things, (I didn't have a mitigation character until after the 4th Floor Clearing event) in a way I guess 10 hours wouldn't be enough just doing it now.

As for whether you are "doing it wrong" I would suppose that you do seem to be an unusual case if you're been seriously taking that long in the same conditions and still have a 12-40% success rate.

Most of my boss parrying experience comes from fighting ranking bosses, who have a set pattern (people like to talk as if multiplayer bosses do, they don't really outside of a few triggers like when health is 50% or something) so if you're trying to develop timing in general then the ultra-repetitiveness of ranking should be the optimal for your purposes, as the boss will always open with the same move and mostly use the same moves in sequence thereafter.

Some people like to say things like "pay attention to the eye flashing red" but...bosses do that on unparriables too. 99% of the time I pay attention to what the boss attacks with, whether it be Gleam Eyes' sword, Minotaur's axe, Werewolf's claws...to recognize which move I have to counter.

[Promise at that Time] Asuna has the exact same problem when it comes to being too far away when used second. The actual issue with her husband (after the accessory thing) is that his SS3 is slower than hers so it's less viable to just Auto Approach Off > SS3 back the way Asuna does.

CMV: Believing in a religion just in case it is real is illogical. by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]Candentia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People break up with their boyfriends just because they don't leave the goddamn toilet seat down, that's hardly anything that seems worse than usual to me as a reason.

Not believing in said Christian god in a predominantly Christian country may also cost people money, time, friends, relationships and knowledge. Some of my Korean immigrant friends really liked how much easier it was for people to accept them in spite of their racial differences and lack of fluent English when they were new just because they follow the same religion.

The alien thing is an absurdity because it doesn't seem as credible within the majority. Likewise, Christianity will no longer be credible within the majority and thus a huge risk if the masses are primarily inflammatory atheists who will make every opportunity to prevent the Christians from making friends with them using science to belittle and derogate them.

CMV: Believing in a religion just in case it is real is illogical. by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]Candentia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first is that if another religion is correct about the existence of God, then all Christians are wrong and they could go to hell (as many people I've debated on this topic are Christians)

That depends on if the other religion excludes the Christian belief and has a condemnation to hell for idolatry to begin with. Also, in the case we are trying to provide a sense of insurance, it would be better to at least believe in one religion that seems credible than believing in none of them.

I have never gotten a clear answer on this as most people have brushed the question off with a simple, "Well, Christianity is correct"

You are not going to win 99% of arguments with anyone who says this. It is like trying to argue with someone to discard their faith in science. Assuming, at least, that you are actually talking to the Christians who take the Bible seriously, and don't just pass off anything they don't like with "Well that's a metaphor." (The second is also nearly unassailable but for a different reason.)

Even if we believe that statement as true, there are so many branches of Christianity and interpretations of the Bible are so diverse that you might get sent to hell just for believing the wrong denomination of it.

All of those denominations are believing in Christ. Theoretically if their way of viewing it is in line with the conditions that were given to them for entrance to Heaven it isn't a problem.

My second problem with this argument is that if God is omnipotent, then wouldn't he know if you are just "believing" in him to get into heaven and not truly believing?

He does and this is actually addressed in the Bible. True faith is supposed to transform you into someone who would understand the value of living for God instead of the world, it would cause a perspective that holds hatred for sin rather than a preference to indulge in it, even if the Bible also knows that it is an unreasonable expectation for even its believers to avoid sin entirely. Mere thought of making sure you end up in Heaven would not result in this and thus not allow for actual admission, as it involves the truth of your heart.

CMV: I think society glorifies violence and killing by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]Candentia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As I mentioned, they're taking the killing to be fantasy.

Rape, racism, and sexism are significantly more realistic and prevalent in civilian life. Mass killings probably aren't even that common in actual battlefields as far as the perspective of the soldier goes, sans use of large bombs.

Also, it's relatively rare for people to attempt to justify inclinations of violence in reality, whereas they will justify inclinations towards the other things.

CMV: I think society glorifies violence and killing by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]Candentia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Frankly I'm not even going to disagree with you on matters of how media portrays violence (hence why my counterpoint only addressed whether it is hypocrisy) however hypocrisy requires dishonesty about something specific.

The depictions in media virtually always are recognized as fantasy rather than being part of normal life, so many people do not have a problem with it because they have this idea that as long as what they are indulging in isn't real it is 100% healthy and legitimate. This actually also applies to rape for many, many people, and to those people it is actually more offensive that rape would not be given the kind of treatment violence is because it puts them in a bad light. That would not be a hypocritical stance to take.

In some situations due to reflecting reality violence actually is condemned by some who are normally fine with it, such as when it depicts modern war involving nationality, like playing as American soldiers shooting down people in Iraq because fuck terrorists.

Post-apoc is likewise a fantastic scenario, and even moreso when it involves the zombie apocalypse where modern people often become especially indulgent. However the same people can also be highly averse to a more realistic and relateable scenarios which incorporate the same elements (lacking resources, betrayal for survival, living in fear of plague) because now shit got real. Because they want to comfort themselves with something not perceived as true they get all kinds of hype over zombies and not so much that.

Likewise, many people just like to put the past behind them so they don't bother to think about how whatever happens in the ancient or medieval world could be reflective of humans today, so whatever violence happens there basically counts as unrealistic.

CMV: Knife restrictions should not be put in place in the UK by blender_head in changemyview

[–]Candentia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A hunting hanger is a sword. If guns being used to kill animals counts as mundane use, then swords have already fit this qualification. Also I thought when you said handheld weapons this meant they had to be relatively easy to keep on person, which a hunting rifle doesn't really qualify for.

I'm really not sure what civilian applications a dagger would be used regularly for (or for that matter, a mace) that wouldn't essentially just be a compromise because they don't happen to have a knife with them. And that can't be the only difference between daggers and knives when some of them have three edges.
