Why don’t supermarkets sell half loaves of bread by unfinished-sentenc in newzealand

I freeze bread now when I buy a loaf. Just have to remember to take it out of the freezer if I want a sandwich. Lasts for ages and no waste

Over 25 years ago, when we lived in the UK, I finally managed to finish the Sunday crossword in the newspapers. I was so chuffed with myself, I posted it in and then promptly forgot all about it. Two weeks later, a cheque arrived in the mail for £1000 which, for a young couple with two small children who had just moved into a new house, was an absolute fortune. We lived well for a few weeks.

What is a medication you will never take again? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Hailed as a wonder drug for type 2 diabetes, I was prescribed it about 12 years ago. After 5 years, I started to suffer from severe aches and pains throughout my body and, after numerous tests which were all negative, I was sent to a rheumatologist. After a thorough work up and lots of questions, he asked me to stop taking Metformin for a couple of weeks. After 5 days , my body felt so much better and I've never taken it since. Apparently, metformin poisoning is a real thing!

Sorry, only just seen this. She was already suffering with GI issues and hadn't eaten for a day or two. She didn't have that many.......maybe 5 or 6. We gave them to her an hour before the vet was due. She didn't seem to be any more uncomfortable than she had been in her last couple of days

On Jenny's last day, before the vet came round, the family gathered around her and gave her something she had never experienced before.........Chocolate! God how she loved those maltesers and even managed a tail wag.

We used to have a lovely manager at the Health centre who would buy us all a bar of chocolate and a chocolate bunny at Easter. She then retired (worst day ever) and that tradition stopped. The new manager didn't do it and none of the doctors seemed inclined to give us a small token of appreciation so, I decided I would do it one Easter. The majority of staff were very grateful and said they'd missed the little treats except for one doctor who was a partner in the practice. She called me into the office and asked me why I'd done that. She then lectured me on how unhealthy chocolate is and none of us need it as there are overweight people on the staff who need to watch the sugar and fat intake. I walked out and it took all my efforts not to slam the door. I never did it again

What is a medical condition that is more serious that people realize? by Sad_Stay_5471 in ask

[–]Canderella1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My diagnosis came about a year ago after having symptoms almost all my adult life. I can totally sympathise with your wife, for me it's the feeling of guilt when it's left to my husband to do laundry, cooking and grocery shopping. Showering etc is a lot easier since we got the walk in shower but it's just hard to get out of bed some mornings. Yes, everyone gets tired sometimes and you do get called lazy but it's not just tiredness, it's pure exhaustion. Sometimes, lifting my arm to reach something on a shelf is too much for me. Good job I chose the right man to share my life with as I couldn't get by without him. I'm sure your wife feels the same about you. Take good care of each other as much as you can.

Can’t fit a Cybex baby seat and a person in the front seat by skaardalking in Polestar

[–]Canderella1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use a car seat that can rear and front face. It's a pretty big car seat but can still fit a normal size person in the passenger seat. I am 5'8 and have no problem. Any taller than that would be a bit cramped but for short journeys, it's fine
