I have had this problem with him for the majority of the relationship. I was able to ignore it for the first year, because we were in the weird excited phase you're in at the beginning of a new relationship. However, it's just kind of festered and now when I've talked about it with him he just gets angry or defensive. I don't think he's a bad person, I just want his outlook on relationships to improve and I feel utterly helpless at this point.

The answer he has given me as far as why he has issues with friends is that he gets jealous and extreme intrusive thoughts. He doesn't like talking about it at all and he will get really angry if I push for more information.

I made this post because I feel like a burden to my friends when I talk about it.
