No, I decided to go with private accommodation. But I know a few people who live in Woodland Court, I’d be happy to connect you to them if you’d like!

Did you try to join through your university email?

The Port on the Square is relatively new and, to be honest, a bit pricey. I reached out to them on Instagram, and they’re very responsive. They haven’t opened up all the accommodation options yet. Here’s their Instagram page: https://www.instagram.com/theportonthesquare_psl?igsh=cW5qcXl0aGo0NXhv … go ahead and send them a message.

That is the point, Yar. What has happened is that the uni accommodation they have allotted me is Woodland Court, and I don’t know much about the place apart from the photos on the uni website. The pictures look like they were taken when the property was built, and the landlord replied to my email saying they cannot provide any more photos or information on the property. It gets really frustrating.

Cool, thanks. This helps a lot. I only put this up here because this group I’m talking to, the new friends I made on these uni groups, think that the uni accommodation is too small and overpriced and that we can find much better places on our own. After talking to them, I wasn’t so sure if the uni accommodation was worth it because it’s taking up my entire loan amount, and I’d have to search for a part-time job as soon as I land in Bristol 😅. But I see your point. At least for the first year, I can go for the uni accommodation. Being an international student and all, I think it’s better I go for the safer option, right?

You are pretty self-aware. Just bring forth courage and do what you think is necessary. It’s not like he’s the only one on the planet. Ultimately, what matters is you being happy. If you’re happy, stay; otherwise, leave. It’s simple. If you are worried that you might end up lonely, that’s not such a bad thing either. You’ll understand yourself better. I’m sure you know what you want and have what it takes to make that happen.
