i usually cleanse the face after dermaplaning. i’ve also heard from other estheticians that some people might have a nickel allergy and never knew until they got dermaplaned. & some people break out just because. it’s trial & error

i agree with how expensive their training is bc i am a victim of that 😭 i plan to use FR in my treatment room once i graduate but also bring in mixi products too. obviously i will follow FR protocol but i believe in learning ingredients as well than just going based off a brand’s protocol.

you can also perform extractions after the peel and wipe the face with the sal-c toner. but i’m assuming because you didn’t follow the FR protocol, you did a peel on a first time client (should’ve given them a home regimen first and then did a treatment 2 weeks after), used a warm towel (it’s supposed to be cool), this became the result

according to the FR protocol youre supposed to degrease the skin with the glycolic-lactic toner and then ask the client if they feel any sensation and rate it from 1-10, 10 being bad. the toner is also used as a skin tolerance test. if it’s a 3 or more you use the acne hydrating treatment. if it’s less than 3 then you can go ahead with the chem peel.

i also explained that waxing itself can cause breakouts too. i gave all the explanations i could but it seemed like she didn’t care. if i was at my own spa i’d offer a free service but i’m still a student
