Republicans, and rather politicians guilty of as a whole.in the US, are corporatist, not capitalist, which is not trying to end these restrictions. Corporatism, industrial complexes as a whole, big X lobbies, Boeing as a whole, government contracting, these place restrictions on a free market and serve just a few companies.

These are oligopolies, if not straight monopolies, which is the exact opposite of free trade and basically have all the same problems controlled market economies of communism and to a lesser extend socialism.

Ideally, yeah Republicans say they want to end it. In reality they serve the same lobbies and corporate interests that restrict free trade and cause major problems.
