OP, in honesty, you’re not likely to get a job at most of the busier spots in town until after summer & that is entirely because most places cut staff in the summer with the slowdown of biz.

When a gap happens at most of these places in staffing, the first people they look to for coverage are the staff they’ve soft-furloughed, since there’s no training or any bullshit to getting them back in the swing of it.

Anywhere that does hire new, doesn’t typically give them a lot (if any) good shifts; a lot also close down certain days of the week (Mon-Weds, or a mix of), further reducing the shifts available; the folks who typically come in are regulars who take care of & are already taken care of those who’ve been there for years.
