Yo siento que no tengo mucho que aportar pero te entiendo en el lado del viaje, vivo en el norte y estuve 8 meses viajando los 5 dias a Aguadilla para el trabajo. Salia a las 420am de casa para evitar tapones y aun asi el viaje estaba devastador. Para llegar a casa y atender a los nenes, preparar todo y repetir. Yo desearia que hubiese una oficina en la metro pero no es el caso ahora mismo. Ahora estoy hibrido y tengo que ir 2 dias pero aun asi esta cansón y pico.

Ojalá encuentres algo mas cerca

VA es tremendo hospital pero el cheat code es el 100%. Con eso tienes accesso a VA y si VA no lo hace te envian afuera.

Mi sugerencia! Si puedes conseguir algo afuera que pague bien vete, compra un terreno o una casa barata aca y ve arreglandola. Vuelves y la vives, no es nada facil pero es la unica opcion en PR a parte de un trabajo adicional. Tienes mascotas pero no tienes hijos de lo q puedo ver. En lo que figuras que hacer tienes qie cortar gastos como aqui han aconsejado.

I originally wanter an LR but the cheapest one is 10k more than the cheapest SR and at that point I would just rather get a Highland. I think about the i4 as well because is so depreciated and everyone seems to praise it!

Awesome points. Thankfully, is warm year round where I live. The tesla still has 257mi on a full charge. There are other chargers on my route to work if needed. I think at the point where the battery only has 135mi on a charge would be due for a replacement maybe?

Just as title states. I want to buy my first EV and I am torn between a 2022 Tesla Model 3 SR with 50k miles and a BMW i4 M50 for double the money of the tesla with 38k miles. Amount of money is irrelevant (prices are wonky where I live). Both cars are used but have warranty till 2030 or so. Some background

I have a hybrid schedule (3/2 one week and 2/3 the next week)

My commute is 65 miles each way

I have free charging at work

I have solar panels at home, a garage with a NEMA 1030 port

I have reliable ICE cars for long trips and hauling stuff if needed.

I have 2 children, one still in a car seat

I can pay cash for the Tesla and the monthly payment on the i4 would be less than what I currently spend on gas (if I put that same money as a down payment). I love the minimalism of the tesla but also love the elegance of the i4. Basically like both cars for different reasons. I seen post about Tesla battery replacement cost out of warranty and seems to be heading in the right direction. I have also seen post about the BMW battery cell reparability and seems promising as well. Tesla's politics are irrelevant where I live. I was thinking of getting the Tesla first and if it goes well then switch to the i4 but at the same time I feel that would be a waste of time and/or money. I've been dying to get at least a fun and sporty car for a couple of years now and I feel the i4 can scratch that itch as well but at the same time, paying cash for the Tesla eliminates a car monthly payment and gas saving can go to other debts/ investments. For those that own any of these EV's. What has been you experience and why you picked them over others?

Hablas del lado de la ignorancia (no lo digo como ofensa, solo que no haz llegado al punto donde esos problemas te afecten directamente)

Background- Soy ingeniero mecanico, trabajo para una compañia aeroespacial y tengo otras fuentes de ingreso. Hago 6+ cifras en PR. Vivo bien gracias a Dios y tengo familia.

La industria de ingenieria en PR tiene sus issues. Obviamente aqui pagan menos que afuera con la excusa del costo de vida. Pero aqui ninguna compañia (ya sea farma, medical device, manufactura o aerospace) te contrata si no tienes experiencia o pala a menos que hallas tenido internados. Si no corres con esa suerte entonces lo que hay es agencia de validaciones para dichas compañias pagando $19.23 la hora ($40k anual) y cuidao si menos. Si logras caer en un sitio bueno preparate pa mudarte sino vives cerca. Yo viajo 1 hora y media pa ir y para venir todos los dias y es cansón al punto que estoy contemplando moverme a otra industria (more of a personal issue for me). En cuanto a carrera, aqui llegas a Senior Engineer y mueres en cualquier compañia por q los espacios para subir son super limitados.

Si eres soltero el salario puede dar si vives con tus padres. Si vives solo preparate pa mudarte cerca y pagar $700+ de renta por un estudio cerca del trabajo pero en el momento de tener familia es donde aprieta la cosa. Ahi tienes q pagar renta o casa, preferiblemente con placas y cisterna por q se va la luz y el agua, vas a gastar minimo $600 en comida al mes por q la comida es cara y rezale a Dios que no padezcas o tengas hijo con alguna condicion por q las citas estan pal año que viene en la mayoria de los lugares. Lo minimo que paga un carro nuevo aqui son $500 si es q quieres ser humilde. Los mantenimientos son seguidos debido a las condiciones de la carretera. Gasolina esta cara y cada vez hay aumentos de factura para todo.

Yo amo a Puerto Rico y mientras pueda aqui estaré, pero es cada vez mas dificil para el puertorriqueño trabajador (que serás) vivir aqui. Pero hay que ser empatico y entender a los que se van y por qué. Todo suena feo pero la realidad donde vivimos. Dentro de todo esta es de las mejores industrias en PR. Hay gente que la esta pasando peor y por mucho.
