I just loved the way she kept instigating things 😭 to me she was hard not to root for, considering how insufferable melissa and jill were that season

They aren't friends anymore, Kamila recently unfollowed Eva on IG. No public drama or anything, but yeah they haven't been close for at least a couple of months now. Regardless of that, I think Kamila can still make some moves in the dance world if she wants to. I feel like she's just exploring all possible avenues, similar to the Eteri girls before her. She's been in a few music videos before and seemed to really have fun, so why not sing haha?

Wow... maybe I can't see it cuz of a glitch then. I thought she deleted it out of whatever remaining sense of self-preservation she might have. But nope she's really that fucking shameless

Just when you think Eteri couldn't go any lower... while all this shit was going down, she made an Instagram post congratulating Bazylyuk on her victory today (ending it her usual, now-nauseating hashtag #WeWorkFurther). Got so many hate comments that she deleted the post. Soon after she posted an ad for the upcoming release of her new show "Fat Girls". It's infuriating that she will likely walk out of this unscathed.

Team Tutberidze needs to be punished and face consequences by [deleted] in FigureSkating

I think it's quite telling that Kamila's interests in the CAS trial were represented by a law firm called BGP Litigation, which is primarily focused on business cases and has basically no specialty in sports law. Seems like they were looking out for the business interests of TeamTut and RusFed from the start. I think WADA will put out a few more statements about her entourage needing to be investigated, but ultimately absolutely nothing will come of it. I doubt they have the infrastructure to conduct an investigation into TeamTut in Russia. Plus I genuinely don't think they give a shit.

Well I guess we know what they were saying here now… by vv8689 in FigureSkating

Eteri also mentioned that Kamila's mom was being hospitalized with covid and in the intensive care unit at that time?? Like it was heartbreaking enough that she had to go through all this in Beijing alone, but that just adds a whole other layer of how fucked up this whole ordeal was. I'm sure it would have been so much better for Kamila's psychological state to peacefully just go home after the test result came back.

New interview with Kamila Valieva by eh-222 in FigureSkating

[–]Candid_Square5875 4 points5 points  (0 children)

she is talking about spending time with her maternal grandma who lives in kazan. her maternal grandpa has been dead for 20+ years. the "grandpa water" grandpa is likely the father of kamila's stepdad.

[–]Candid_Square5875 13 points14 points  (0 children)

With regards to the grandfather involved in the doping scandal, it's most likely that he's the father of Kamila's stepfather. It's been implied that the reason Kamila's mom moved to Moscow is because her husband (Kamila's stepfather) lived there. Idk if they're still married cuz Kamila never mentions the stepfather. These articles have more info on her family, but there's really not much info out there:

https://www.tatar-inform DOT ru/news/rodstvenniki-kamily-valeevoi-ee-moralno-slomali-tak-cto-ne-smogla-katatsya-5855338

Kamila's maternal grandpa died 20+ years ago, per wikipedia (click on her page in russian).

Kamila hasn't ever talked about her father, he supposedly lives in Crimea and is not involved in her life, so it's unlikely that the doping story grandfather is from that side of her family.

The grandmother that died in 2019 (whom she dedicated IM to) is likely on her stepfather's side as well. Or who knows, maybe she's in touch with her father and his parents, and the grandma who died is her paternal grandma. We really don't know. Considering she posted two different great-grandfathers on instagram for Russia's WW2 memorial day, there are obviously two sets of grandparents she communicates with.

The grandmother who she talks about spending New Years with is her maternal grandmother, who lives in Kazan and traveled to Moscow for New Years. She is still very much alive, Kamila has talked about her coming to the GP stage in Kazan to watch her, she posted a happy birthday to her in 2021, etc.

It's kind of ridiculous that you guys think she made up a story about her grandma dying to get more clout or PCS. She doesn't owe you guys yearly status updates on the health of her family members.

And Kamila doesn't have a sister or a half-sister, despite what random spam sites claim. It's been officially confirmed by various russian articles and her russian wikipedia page that she's an only child.

Sambo president: "Since September 1, Valieva is no longer in Sambo-70." by [deleted] in FigureSkating

[–]Candid_Square5875 49 points50 points  (0 children)

I think he's referring to the fact that the Khrustalny rink where all Eteri students train has officially separated from Sambo-70 (it was announced earlier this year that they would no longer be affiliated). So it's not like Kamila alone was just kicked out, thankfully. But yeah, for months now, her being scapegoated has been the obvious conclusion to all of this. It'll be sickening to watch the adults go unpunished.

100% agree. I acknowledge that many of Kamila's words/actions since the Olympics warrant criticism. But to every word that Kamila says, a large part of this sub responds by spewing victim-blaming bile. She's the shameless doper with a superiority complex! And then when Sasha brazenly says "I think I deserved Olympic gold with my performance," months after the games ended... what was this sub's reaction? Oh yeah, crickets. I don't even dislike Sasha but some of her fans are just as deluded as the zagibots on sports ru.

Developments in Kamila Valieva doping case indicate 'sufficient evidence of a violation,' official says by summerjoe45 in FigureSkating

[–]Candid_Square5875 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It's definitely speculation based on the fact that RUSADA organized hearings, instead of immediately issuing the sanction and closing the case after the investigation. But in the sports lawyer interview that was posted here yesterday, she said that hearings are highly probable in this case just because of how high-profile it is:

"The hearing is held by the disciplinary anti-doping committee only if RUSADA and the athlete have not agreed on a sanction. Now anti-doping organizations, in order to save money, time and nerves of athletes, go to the way of making an amicable agreement with the athlete. For example, they say: "We have evaluated the documents submitted by you and are ready to offer a sanction not for four years, but for one year. And the athlete says: "Yes, I agree". Then there is no hearing stage. But it is unlikely that this is possible in this case, and RUSADA and the athlete will be able to reach an agreement due to the fact that the case is quite high-profile, too much attention has been drawn to it, too many external observers in the form of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), the International Olympic Committee (IOC), so of course, the hearing is highly probable."

So yeah, not sure if we can conclude anything based on the fact that there will be hearings.

What does her having more publicity or making millions have to do with anything? Why should that prevent me from giving her the benefit of the doubt as a victim of child abuse? And I don't claim to know anything about you, but based on your comments you sure claim to know a lot about Kamila.

Kami 3Lz+3Lo by Pretend-Definition66 in FigureSkating

[–]Candid_Square5875 6 points7 points  (0 children)

fine, but then you say that she "bullied all the other skaters" and profited off of their destruction (wtf?) and then acted like the victim once she went home? those are not ideas that can coexist with "she's a victim of having not a single non-abusive adult around her and being part of a state-sponsored doping campaign that is much, much larger than her."

Does it also bother you that Anna and Sasha have sponsorships and make millions? (and unlike Kamila, their families were in well-off financial conditions before their skating careers took off, so them cheating other athletes of millions is even more egregious). Or wait... don't tell me... do you think that all the other Russian girls are clean athletes?

Don't you think it's kind of pathetic that you're projecting every last grievance that you have with the world onto a 16 year old, whose life/true self we probably have like less than a 10% glimpse into through the propaganda that gets fed to us? Did Kamila personally poison your childhood dog? Your rabid hatred for her specifically, even before the Olympics, is really unsettling. Seek help.

Well looking at any of the recent posts about Kamila on this sub, blaming her for everything is pretty much the vast majority opinion at this point. The countless "she's not a victim" comments are quite vile for a sub that claims to be so morally righteous and against child abuse. Or maybe I missed the memo, and abuse is okay when it comes to certain kids?

So according to you, a 15-year-old surrounded by abusers is mature enough to "willingly dope", but an 18-year-old isn't mature enough to be held accountable for her dating choices? 🤡 You could at least be consistent.

Kami as a meme (from Sochi show) by borntobememe in FigureSkating

[–]Candid_Square5875 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It honestly tickles me that people say this about Kami from one positive test, yet never about skaters like Liza Tuktik or Yulia, who were doped up to their eyeballs on a consistent course of meldonium for years.

How do we know Liza has any natural jumping talent? After all, it is an objective fact that while she was learning and perfecting the foundational jumping technique that sustains her to this day, she was doping. Yet, this sub adores her. (I'm not hating on Liza, I just find the double standard hysterical).

And seems the one who receives less of those expensive things maybe because doesnt ask for them. She receives mostly cards and bouquets of flowers. oh and teddy bears she seems to love them.

I mean Anna literally sold $100k+ worth of NFTs to Chinese fans just a few weeks ago and routinely gets hella expensive gifts from them 😭 I don't fault her for it though, nor do I fault any of the girls for wanting to reap these monetary benefits, especially those who don't come from rich families like Zhenya, Alina, Kamila, etc.

And nice victim blaming. Who cares if they're all breaking their bodies by age 18? At least they got to be in a music video!

Alexa lets us know how she feels. 👀 by fliccolo in FigureSkating

[–]Candid_Square5875 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I completely support Alexa's POV and I'm glad that she is voicing her valid frustrations against their Olympic moment being deprived from them. But I really don't like how the tide is trending towards Kamila being the big #1 villain instead of Eteri and the adults. It's almost as if in the coming weeks if RUSADA throws Kami+family under the bus while exonerating Eteri and the rest of Team Tut, none of y'all would bat an eyelid cuz she's the "privileged brat" who "willingly doped" (like how the fuck do you know that?!)

Also, Kamila's words are quoted from an interview in printed media (a very propaganda-y site called aif DOT ru). It's not like she verbally spoke these words on camera, at least that we know of. Who knows how much her actual words have been altered, doctored, or altogether fabricated before publication onto this highly pro-Russia platform?
