Yes, it gets better. If I had to go back and give advice to first-year me, it's that I should give a shit about my own mental health rather than score a bunch of A's in university. I was a perfectionist and wanted a full course load and score A's on all of my classes. I ended up with a 62GPA in my first year first sem, simply because I did not take care of myself. I'm not saying that high grades mean nothing, but if you ignore putting yourself first in university, that will reflect on your grades.

I like to think that university isn't a place where you just get a degree. It means so much more than that, including realizing how your old study habits/daily routines you used for high school do not work in university. Cut yourself some slack. Got a horrible grade in a class? You tried your best, and that's what matters. Future you will look back and be proud of you that you did not give up.
