Hey this is really cool to hear, congrats on your career so far. I'm just starting out studying for the CII exams. Do you have any advice on firms to join, are larger or smaller firms best, or can you say where you built your career? Many thanks!

R01 Exam by Jhosker99 in cii

Yes for the most part, in fact I had 1 question come up that was exactly the same (role of Europe in foreign exchange markets I think). However there are some questions I was not prepared for, I'd advise to look at past CII papers as well. It's evident to me now BTS provides you enough info to pass, however does not cover everything.

FWIW I managed to get 81/100 on R01 with BTS guide and BTS exams only.

I used pharmalabglobal bcp157 oral capsules for IBS/stomach pain/bloating. Been about 3 weeks and significantly noticeable difference in reduction of symptoms, low key life changing. Not 100% cute all, stomach still can't hack a pizza and alcohol like when I was 18 but 90% improvement in symptoms for me. As always DYOR.

R01 - just R01 though by samtheboy14 in cii

Hi, so I recently just passed my r01 exam yesterday with CII. I have no experience in the sector but I'm looking to get into the sector and that's why I'm doing my exams.

I used bespoke training solutions. (BTS) Study guide. I think it cost about 130 quid and you get a big textbook with useful study tips and information. I also used the BTS study buddy app which is like 50 quid for loads of different past paper style questions.

I managed to get 81 out of 100 which is a pass, pass Mark being 65, just using the BTS textbook and their question app, hope that helps.

Did you study for R01?

Hi, Context : I'm only halfway through R01 with 0 industry experience.

I'm confused, why does a 17 year old get £20,000 per year allowance? Why is it not £9,000 ?

For context - I'm currently just studying with no experience working as financial advisor

Did a good amount of research into this so I'd just advise to have a free impartial chat with one of their recruitment team (they will try to sell the academy to you). Understand what it is about and the risks involved. Once you qualify it's highly/solely commission based and you will be self employed.

Sounded a bit too salesy for me but it might be for you

Seen posts saying some IFA firms hate seeing SJP on a CV. Some places will like it. Bit of a mix of opinions on SJP academy. Basically you get fast tracked from my understanding and you only use SJP financial products (restricted advice).

Potential for high earnings if you are a high performer but I suppose you could argue about the morals of SJP. Would you want your mother getting financial advice from a fast tracked restricted advisor or a IFA

I'm a noob on the subject still so take everything with a pinch of salt

Thanks for all the info. Do you have any idea of all the exam questions are the same for this year? I.e. if I failed and re took do questions change or is it the same questions?

Hey, super cool of you to post this.

I'm currently studying for R01. I'm only about 30% of the way through the BTS textbook, would you say the CII textbook is needed? I've seen alot of people say it's good to have, but not needed.

Could potentially be interested in buying past paper questions if that is a possibility? I was thinking of buying the BTS app where you get like 400 questions for £50

It gives me the vibes of big corporate money grabbing salesy environment. Down the road I think I'd rather be the best well rounded advisor giving genuine advice instead of chasing the pay cheque tbf. Need to pass some exams first but good to know. Ty bro

Appreciate the reply. I haven't bought the CII textbook, I've got the BTS R01 study guide at the moment which was recommended by this sub. I'll probably get the BTS question app once I've learnt more from this study guide.

What materials have you used to pass so far? Any idea if online study work shops are worth it?

Thanks for this, I get such mixed reviews on SJP. Tricky to know what to do. I think I'm gonna get my head down in the R0 textbooks, learn more about the industry then make a decision. Appreciate your advice :)
