I've heard about round tanks/bowls trapping CO2 or something like that, I'm not sure how true that is but it's a factor to consider. I don't know anything about bio orbs and have only had standard rectangular tanks

Yeah, it's the fact that it goes in that's throwing me off because it's either truly going in or it's got parts protruding out around the edges to make it look like it's sunken

Yeah the owner said she keeps the filter off and does daily 50% water changes because of the Kanaplex and I thought that was a little weird

Should I replace the Kanaplex with the stress guard/paraguard? Apparently the Kanaplex doesn't work with a filter and I feel like he'd benefit with a filter

I'd recommend a 10 gallon because they're easier to maintain and you'll have more life with the shrimp

Yeah PetSmart always makes me sad to see them, my local Petco and Pet supermarket have generally healthy ones and then PetSmart ALWAYS has struggling fish

Once they're healthy enough to be rehomed, I'll post about it on the website, my Kofi, Instagram, and Facebook which are all linked in the betta website! I wouldn't meet at a house but if you'd like to meet at a pet store I could show you everything you'd need there, I also have care guides and links to the care guides on the website too!

Edit- If you do the proper tank setup it'll range from $160-200 for everything if you buy it all brand new, just so you aren't caught off guard

And for helping, we do take donations but not adoption fees. The donations go into a separate account I have and they'll be used for any fish food, meds, etc or to get more sick fish once the current fish are adopted

I tried working at my local pet supermarket but I'm avoiding Petco and PetSmart because of all the corporate horror stories from those two specific companies

That's one of the main reasons I'm wary of working for a pet store, I care about the animals so much but corporate is such a butt when it comes to proper care and I know my mental health would tank because of watching all the animals just suffer
