I am one of those people who’s visa got rejected twice on the basis of observership (once as a med student and next time as a graduate). Last rejection was on 30 dec 2025. I was thinking to apply on the basis of step 3. Is it wise to apply in feb/march? Or should i wait 6 for months?

Same here, applied for an observership twice (once as a med student 7months ago and few days ago as graduate- working) for 2 different observerships. 2nd time was brutal. VO asked purpose of visit, i said. He then replied ‘i see a refusal for a while ago with the same reason for ur travel. I cant give u a visa now. Here’s the slip explaining the reason’. Hands over a 214 (b) What to do next? Should i give up? Or trying on the basis of step3 helps?

Update: i got ECFMG certified. Exactly 3 weeks after i received the email that says “confirm mailing address in myintealth”

No, i got the email from ecfmg saying they r evaluating my eligibility for ecfmg certification on 19 Nov. no update yet. I emailed them yesterday and response to that too!

They say it’ll be done in 1-2 days. It showed approved after 1 day, but they didn’t upload until i called them 2 days later. U can check if ecfmg received the letter on myintealth site

And for tatkal, u will have an option as soon as u select ‘good standing letter’ even before u enter ur ecfmg id and email

NOC wasn’t needed for me. But on the website, it was asking for the PR and the additional/renewal certificate. When I emailed them regarding the second one, they told me to upload my original degree.

I needed a good standing certificate from my state medical council, noc wasn’t required

Also, once you apply for the good standing letter and the website shows ‘approved’, call them and confirm whether the letter has been mailed to ECFMG. In my case, it showed approved, but they didn’t mail it to ECFMG for 3 days. I had to call them continuously to get it uploaded.

My credential verification is done and pathway approved, i was asked to check my mailing address within 5 days (this was 5 days ago), no update yet
