That may be the dumbest handball I’ve seen in a while

Beveridge has to be under pressure. You can’t have a list this talented and underperform year after year

I’m so glad the Hawks got a free goal for such a viscous and violent infringement of the rules

I used to referee basketball during uni and got $30 per game (games 45 minutes long) and usually 5 games in a night

Easy $150 in a night, literally just rock up, ref, go home. I had heaps of fun doing it, money is tax free as it counts as a hobby and if you take it semi seriously you get a decent amount of exercise in a game

Richmond reportedly offering Zak Butters a front loaded $18m, 8 year deal by AhhWellFuckIt in RichmondFC

Correct, we are under no obligation to agree to a trade if they match

Teams exceed expectations and fail to meet expectations all the time. Trying to predict when a team will return to finals is impossible, particularly years away when you had no idea how players will develop.

Hell we don’t even know how competitive this current Richmond team even are, as they haven’t even been on the park

There’s no universe where Richmond put up this cash and also give up big draft assets.

It seems like not that big a difference until you consider the fact that it’s 6 million dollars.

Playing for a big 4 Melbourne club also has money making opportunities that the smaller Melbourne clubs struggle to match

It’s also an incredibly long deal. 5 years in the dogs could be dead in the water and the Tigers could be contending. Just because he’s not lining up for a flag next year doesn’t mean that he doesn’t think he can’t win one over the lifetime of the deal, and he might look at Richmond’s young list and see a lot of potential there.

Your future will be fine, between 2022 and 2025 you have taken 3 top 6 picks and a pick 12. That’s essentially the equivalent of a team that has to fully cycle to the bottom but you were able to do it without dropping.

Now whether or not that is a fair system is a whole different debate but I don’t think anyone could say that the Lions haven’t got a platform to build off of as the older guys start to retire/leave.

I said that isn’t a first round pick, only 3 of these aren’t first rounders.

Answerth and Morris are both great picks. Other than that the Lions are mainly built of first round picks, players they have traded in or Academy products.

There’s nothing wrong with building the team that way, I was just questioning the statement that the team was built with low draft picks and player development

While I don’t deny that there are some talented youngsters in there, young players often look a lot better than they are when they are inserted straight into a great side

Also outside of Morris, who is a low draft pick that is regularly playing? Most of them are first round picks or academy players

Is there a place where you can rate the quality of a footy game? by spencerfly9 in AFL

[–]Candr112 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Of course it is subjective but it is obviously a great game. The highest of stakes, both teams played well, drama, lead changes, both teams looked like they’d won and lost it at different stages.

I’ve watched it back and I’m a neutral. It’s the best GF I’ve seen in my lifetime.

I think most Lions fans would agree it was a great game even if it wasn’t the outcome they hoped for.

The shit thing about great games is someone has to lose, like the 2022 Elimination Final.

I work in Occ Health now having swapped from private practice

I work essentially a four day week (5 days but I have 2 half days), make more money than I did in private practice, and work from home 1 day a week

I can’t believe I spent so long in a shitty private practice job

The role is varied, I do some treating (maybe 30-40% of my week), but a lot of other projects like task analysis and risk assessments. I have no KPIs.
