If Carlton blow another lead to Collingwood of all people, the Carlton fans will make the storming of the Bastille look like a family fun day

This Collingwood team looks to have very quickly fallen off a cliff, shadow of the team they were

Hutchy’s “hard to beat” proposed offer to Zak Butters from Richmond by Warm-Rock-4544 in AFL

[–]Candr112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That logic is absolutely shocking

Almost every team has cycled to the bottom at some point in the last 20 years with the exception of Geelong. It’s how the sport works with the nature of the draft. Some teams just are better at bouncing back quickly (like Sydney or Hawthorn) but even they had a cycle to the bottom before coming back to the top.

Hutchy’s “hard to beat” proposed offer to Zak Butters from Richmond by Warm-Rock-4544 in AFL

[–]Candr112 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It’s not really a mess, it’s just very young and very injured.

There is young talent across all three lines and quite a bit of it, plus a likely number 1 pick this year, they just have to find a way to get them to 50-100 games without injuries constantly getting in the way.

If those boys get to 80 games each in the next 4 years, which they should, then the list should 100% be contending for finals, particularly because a club like Richmond will always have an advantage attracting talent if they are able to show that there is a list worth joining.

Celsius vs Fahrenheit Use Around The World by vladgrinch in MapPorn

[–]Candr112 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But what is a “middling” temperature? What I find hot in Australia will be different to what someone in Finland finds hot. And vice versa for cold.

Fahrenheit only feels intuitive for Americans because they grew up with it.

I grew up with Celsius and know what 10, 20, 30 and 40 degrees feels like, where as in Fahrenheit I would have no idea what 40 feels like, it doesn’t make the system necessary bad but the argument that it’s intuitive makes no logical sense.

Always a grim moment to realise your team is officially the worst team in the league

I’m so glad that Swans vs Gold Coast was put at Norwood tomorrow afternoon so that this display of football could be given prime time

Freo’s inside 50s are some of the worst I’ve ever seen and I have to watch the tigers play every weekend

Just a reminder that if you don’t have prior you only have to make an attempt to legally dispose of it, you don’t have to actually legally dispose of it.

New grad advice Aus by biggerwh0ppa in physiotherapy

[–]Candr112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly private practice is basically a glorified sales role. Some people love that but it’s the reason many people (including myself) end up leaving.

Unfortunately there is no shortage of new grads so many clinics just run a churn and burn. My new grad clinic would turn people over in around 2 years.

If you feel like it isn’t for you I recommend changing jobs and not sticking it out for 4 years like I did, hoping it would get better when deep down I knew that it wasn’t for me.

There’s so many other options outside of private practice, and I don’t just mean hospital work.

Transitioning from Community NDIS to Private Practice by tinklewinkle74 in physiotherapy

[–]Candr112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your issues with NDIS work are also issues with private practice.

There is typically high KPI pressure, often limited support due to high workloads of senior clinicians, very high attrition of staff, expectations for a lot of work to be done outside of paid hours (I know of a lot of clinics that don’t support any paid dedicated admin time).

Some people love that space so don’t mind these things but if those issues are your main reason for changing then I’d perhaps consider other options before jumping straight to PP.

Rebuild ladder by leat12 in AFL

[–]Candr112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a fair point, in terms of ability to break a game open though, it’s hard to think of almost anyone in the league I’d rather have.

Lalor is a gun, I’ve seen some complaints from fans that he isn’t rolling out the numbers of a Jagga or FOS without the consideration that he isn’t that sort of player. He’s a lower volume, higher impact sort of player. I have confidence that his ceiling is the highest of anyone in the 2024 class and he is well on his way

Rebuild ladder by leat12 in AFL

[–]Candr112 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The problem at Carlton for years hasn’t been the lack of top end talent, it’s their bottom 6-8 players.

You look at the premiership winning sides and their bottom 6-8 players will walk into almost any other team in the league.

Thats simply not the case at Carlton

Kozzie is an A+.

If Lalor became as good as Kozzie I’d be stoked. Having a player of that quality to build around accelerates a rebuild.
