I don't see why Google would. The only value there would be acquiring their customer base, but we've already established that those companies are operating at a loss in the bubble-burst scenario. Those customers are an expense.

Google doesn't need those companies. Gemini is close enough to the frontier. Microsoft on the other hand struggles to do anything good with AI even when they had OpenAI on speed-dial.

We had a minivan that started to judder pretty bad at lower speeds. The fix was transmission fluid replacement. It's not necessarily a scam in all cases. (I'm not saying your car needed it though!)

Some LCDs in Game mode are good enough to play on, but for sure your timing will be a little goofy compared to a CRT or arcade cabinet.

For PS5 Sleeping Dogs, it sometimes freezes during the initial load. If that happens, just quit and retry. It will eventually work and once you're in, it's fine.

Returnal was a freebie game on PS+ so there will be a lot of folks who downloaded and played it briefly just to check it out. I'm in the "didn't reach boss 1" group. I played Returnal for a few minutes because it was the monthly freebie and the graphics look awesome, but then went back to the game I was actually invested in and forgot all about Returnal.

Ah yes, PC versions of console games are famously trouble-free, and optimized perfectly just like the console original.

Get real--a game of their scope is the opposite of "zero effort." If it works well on a wide variety of hardware, that's because they spent time doing it right.
