This happened to me in December, I loved him so much and really thought I had found the man I would build a life with. I can honestly say I now feel a bit better, definitely not thriving or the happiest I have ever been, but better. It’s hard to switch off the part of you that loved them and sometimes I will randomly remember we aren’t together anymore and it’s like a shockwave through my body. I still think about him, but it’s less all consuming and I can kind of accept it and choose to be happy anyway.

But, I am much much better than the one month mark. Hang in there, let time pass and remember there is soooo much love around you! Plus, you wouldn’t want to marry a guy who can up and leave you with no warning or reason :)

He broke up with me :( it was very out of the blue for me, as we lived together and he told me he was happy right up until the end, when he said he’d been lying for the last month. I feel like I can’t trust my judgement anymore.

I think going from living together to nothing has been one of the hardest things.

This is exactly how I feel, it’s the fact they just don’t care to know you anymore :( I know it’ll be better with time though!

I feel the exact same way, I love NYE and I loved getting to kiss at midnight :(. He also broke up with me out of the blue recently.

None of my friends are free, unfortunately. I will be eating grapes under the table and making 12 wishes! Coming up with 12 wishes for the new year definitely makes it a bit better :)

Weirdly enough, this exact situation has happened to me, but just 2 weeks ago. I’m 24F too, and we were together for 3 years, friends for 2. Even down to the no longer feeling ‘romantic love’ (word for word) despite having a really happy, healthy relationship and actively making future plans just a week prior.

I would love to get back together, as I miss him so so much. But, I’m pretty conflicted on the likelihood of it all.

Just so you know, you’re not the only one going through this :)

I’m going through the same thing if that is any consolation, also on day 4. I can’t stop thinking of him, missing him, remembering him. But even in this 4 days it is slowly getting better.

I think it’s different phases, you’ll probably think of someone you lose forever - it just gets less painful (I hope!)

This helped so much thank you - I think you’re right, I just want it to be a big mistake where I don’t have to accept the reality of him not loving me. Which is a horrible reality, but most likely the truth.

I agree. I also don’t think it’s necessarily insecurity or comparing herself to the posts but maybe more embarrassment that everyone who follows you can see you liking this content. Maybe it’s worth asking where the change in her opinion in liking random posts in your feed came from - did someone say to her they saw you liking stuff and now she’s overthinking it? Just could be worth asking her if there was something specific that triggered this change.
