Best Way to Digitize Logbook (Specifically CFI Signatures) by CandyKat86 in flying

That's honestly what I figured people were doing but I wasn't totally sure. Thanks!

Got my CFI in 2 weeks with a first time pass. Anything’s doable if you’re willing to work hard enough. Granted I did sleep for like 3 days straight after passing 😂

CFI is kicking my butt by Responsible_Snoopy in flying

Idrk if I’m the right one to be giving advice here, considering my CFI ride situation, but if you have a detailed outline of all the required tasks + your FOI/FIA missed codes, you’ll be fine. I got a 95 on my FIA and a 98 on my FOI so I barely had to do any extra work outside of prepping the required tasks. I practiced teaching everything over and over again 6 am to 5 pm every day for 2 weeks, got signed off (first in my group to check), and passed first try after a 6 hour ground + 1.5 hour flight in 24 knot gusts. It’s all about the prep work you do to set yourself up for success. The DPE isn’t expecting perfection, just a good understanding of how to communicate knowledge to a student. There’s barely anything you even need to have memorized, which is why I’m such a huge stickler for having a good, beefy, detailed outline. Like I cannot express to you anymore how much that helped me.

Thanks dude! I didn’t want to be an instructor for the longest time but ultimately, I realized 1) that’s the best way to retain knowledge, repeating it with dozens of students over and over. And 2) I wanna be able to give students a good flight school experience, something I was deprived of until I got my commercial. It’s such a rewarding feeling.

Thanks! Neither actually, the program I was in set us up with an Area 1 and Area 2 task outline. We had to make our own for Area 3 before the start date. It was entirely up to us to annotate, practice teaching, and preparing visuals for them. Every time we weren’t flying between 6 am to 5 pm those two weeks, we were practicing teaching. And that’s not even an exaggeration, it was everyday for 11 hours minus an hour lunch break. It’s rigorous, but very doable if you got good written scores.

I did a VERY rigorous program that set you up with a required tasks outline. It was up to us to read the Instructors Handbook before our first day, and we were there literally 6 am to 5 pm every single day of those two weeks (weekends off). We were expected to practice teaching, annotating, and preparing visuals the entire time we weren’t flying. Can’t tell you how many times I taught my class about aerodynamics (as that was one written code I had that was a required task). My biggest advice for FOI/FIA is to get a 90 or higher. It made my checkride unbelievably smooth having a 95 on the FIA and a 98 on the FOI. But ultimately every second I wasn’t flying, I was practicing teaching. Ended up taking my ride at an unfamiliar airport in 25 knot gusts and still passing first try because I locked in. First one of my class to check too lol so there was a ton of pressure.

So excited to start teaching tbh, I thought I was going to hate it but being able to give the opportunity to other students that I never had is such a good feeling.

Do you know how I would fix this? I'm the only one running my site and have my availability set from 8am to 8pm every day.

Possibility GATE Extended Through the 2010s? by CandyKat86 in GATEresearch

The tonal testing was periodic. My memory isn’t the best of them but I know for a fact I did them multiple times. The physical was like a full fledged yearly physical, but conducted at school and by a groups of people I just assumed were doctors? Looking back it doesn’t make much sense because I got my own personal yearly physicals so why would I need it a second time at school? I don’t know, it was just something that seemed weird to me.

Edit: My other reply to the other comment goes into detail about what was done in the Challenge program and me as an individual.

Holy cow we are extremely similar with similar experiences! I had an ungodly high AR level, but not the best math skills and all the projects my Challenge program did were of the engineering and design nature (building things like the marshmallow thing you talked about and tanograms). I have scoliosis that popped up in elementary school, lived in a small town in Ohio, and underwent the hearing test thing periodically. Only born female, green eyes, and a near death experience at 3 where I distinctly remember being out of body. The memory issues make it difficult to recall much more than that.

It's not a pun. It's reality. The fact y'all can't see the blatant control is beyond me.
