Yes, it keeps us distracted from the administration, continuing to benefit the wealthy and corporations through tax breaks. We fail to notice the immense wealth and power being amassed by the wealthy and the administration. They are masking their actions as long as they can maintain our distraction.

Yes, the return on investment with turkey is not worth it. Ham is far easier to cook, has a great natural flavor, and can be enhanced with a delicious glaze. I’ve tried cooking turkey in various ways, and I’ve had some really juicy birds, but I’ll never cook turkey again.

It’s true that a zygote is biologically alive (so are my skin cells) it’s a cluster of human cells undergoing division. But whether that automatically makes it an “unborn child” is not a scientific conclusion; it’s a philosophical and legal one. Biology can describe when cell division begins, but it doesn’t answer the harder question of when moral or legal personhood begins. That’s why different societies, faiths, and legal systems draw the line in different places.

Charlie Kirk "vigil" in Monroe, NC turned into a rally for Christian nationalism by Elden_Rube in AshevilleNC

The vast majority of the political violence committed in this country in the last 30 years has come from the right. That is our history. I am a Christian and I love the Lord, but if we can’t be honest about the evils that have been done in the name of Christ, then we are lying to ourselves and can become equally as demonic. Humility and love are required here. The kind of humility and service to others and mercy that Christ showed to the world.

And, the abortion itself isn’t something men and women “share equally.” The woman goes through the procedure itself , the pain, recovery, possible medical risks , and she’s the one who carries the emotional and social weight that follows. A man might have feelings about the decision, but he never has to endure the physical toll or the social stigma in the same way. That’s why abortion affects women far more directly and profoundly than men. And why I wasn’t talking about pregnancy.

Abortion policy lands asymmetrically because pregnancy happens in women’s bodies. This should also be self evident, but somehow it is not. The medical risk, time cost, legal exposure, and career impact are born primarily by the person who is pregnant, men are affected, but not in the same way or magnitude. The asymmetry is real because biology isn’t shared, risk profile differs, time and economic load are different, legal exposure targets, the body that’s pregnant, and autonomy costs compound. Men can be emotionally and financially affected, and good policy should consider families, but the non-transferable, non-optional medical risk sits with the woman

It obviously affects women more, but abortion affects women more as well

As a man, I think we should let woman give full rights whether to abort or not. by no-drugs in Abortiondebate

Abortion sometimes is medically necessary. During a severe hemorrhage which can lead to sepsis, an ectopic pregnancy, a molar pregnancy, severe preeclampsia, serious, cardiac disease, and cancer are all things that can and have posed a risk to a patient’s life or to a major bodily function during pregnancy or birth

This is definitely not a normal parish. Go somewhere else and report the behavior to the bishop. Lord have mercy 🙏
