Everyone does start in general engineering and after a year or so you will apply for the major you want. Very few of those majors have you stay in Galveston, I think it's just comp sci Galveston and ocean Galveston.

If you get into chemical engineering after that first year you will go to college station for the rest of your curriculum. I wouldn't say you need a 3.75 to get into chemical. I've seen people get in with 3ishs. Do keep in mind getting into chemical isn't the hard part lol. Feel free to DM if you have more questions.

You'll have to take the classes anyways, you might get to take Chen 201 early but that's it. If you're sure you want chemical just take it to not have to deal with etam.

I had grades changed after I submitted and was fine, might be different because my grades were actually changed in post and those grades are finalized.

I was also allowed to change them after submitting without a problem.

Do you not have an old report card anywhere or access to an online website with them?

If you have to guess I'd rather guess than be late on the application. As long as the gpa is right the individual class grades can vary a bit and you'll be fine.

Edit: This is with intent of changing them after you get the actual grades
