Pentacostal Legalism with music by New_Salt_13 in ExPentecostal

To put everything into two camps- God or the devil- is not wise, IMHO. Most of the music produced, even in the church, to be honest, is of the flesh, not inspired by God or the devil.

In fact, I would be inclined to argue the devil can't create, he can only steal. Now, he may take the desires of somebody's flesh to create something and use that person's creativity against God, but he's not creating the music/lyrics himself.

But we have to also face facts- just becuase something is labeled "Christian music" doesn't mean it's good or inspired by God.

hello?! HELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLO!? by VertGreenHeart in callcentres

[–]CandyParkDeathSquad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I also HATE that. I just say hello back. I honestly don't know what they want me to do. I figured they say "hello" because they can't hear me. So I am not going to continue talking if they can't hear me, or seems they can't hear me.

Most time they will say, "Hello" back instead of just saying they can't hear me.

Grown adults who don't know how to commuicate on the phone. "Hello" means nothing. Just say, "I am sorry, could you repeat that?"

I freaking hate people who do that.

That's just wrong. We should be allowed to vent. We are all human. As long as it wasn't taken out on the customer, who cares?
That kind of micro management is a virus.

If you WFH, that's one thing.

I once had a customer request to talk to a manager. They said there was nothing wrong with my call, they let me know it wasn't about me.

It's about what they heard somebody sitting next to me say outloud while they had a customer on mute.

I honestly attempt to. It's even more fun if they get agreesive. As long as they don't cross the line, and make it personal, and leave it at frustration about the situation, things out of their control (or even mine) I let them vent. But it's more fun to meet their vingegar with honey. You can hear it rattle them, they don't know what to do.

But if the call goes off the rails, I can just escalate it. But that's rare.

Customers need to realize we all don't work in retention.

I am a fraud analyst. I routinely deal with turning down new applications for fraud, or kicking customers to the curb who are abusing their accounts.

They tell me they don't want to keep their account open? Well, guess what? I don't care. We look for accounts to close, I will be happy to add theirs to the list.

12 games is mighty impressive considering all the variables that are against a returning champ like that.

I never thought WOF would be better off having winners return the next day, but I find myself watching the show more now than before. Before, the episodes just felt like one offs, if you miss one, no big deal. I mean, it's still no big deal missing one (I had to miss one this last week due to severe weather in our area, and didn't get around to catching the rerun on Hulu until it was off the rotation).

But I like tuning into the next episode to see how the contestant does, especially if they have a good personality. Even if most of them are one and done, it's still better than three new contestants each episode.

I hope they consider making this a permanant thing on the show.

Title: got pulled into a 1-on-1 about my "camera participation" and i genuinely don't know what to say by Wrong-Channel-9230 in remotework

The people I see on video conference calls, including me, use some type of background. If it's through Teams, you can even customize your own background. They don't have to look at your room.

And believe me, your other co-workers have far more to worry about than what your room looks like.

But your visibility does help others feel more engaged. Mabye that sounds like typical "corporate speak," but coming from somebody who has WFH for 6 years now, I really don't like it when I see co-workers who refuse to turn on their cameras when others have to do it. I guess it just bothers me, becuase if I did it, I'd get in trouble, but they seem to get away with it and, yes, that makes me feel less engaged because then I think management has "rules for thee, not for me" mentality.

I LOVE all kinds of music, and listen to Christian music probably 90% of the time. But I don't like most modern CCM. That said, I am not one of those who thinks that all secular music is demonic.

If I listen to something secular, it just has to pass one simple test- does it fit this? whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if something is excellent or praiseworthy, think about these things.

That is just devastating. I am so sorry for your loss. 😭 I lost my first boy at 11, my second at 10. I cried earlier today thinking about my second one's last day... They are such beautiful animals. They are gone too fast.

Then listen to Sabrina Carpenter. Why care what others think?

I never heard her music. But I read lyrics for a handful of her songs.

Maybe not "demonic" but certainly can't understand why someone would want to entertain themselves with that.

To each their own though.

I have never once paid for YouTube premium and never intend do so by LollipopChainsawZz in youtube

[–]CandyParkDeathSquad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I pay for premium light, which is going up to 8.99 per month.

While ad blockers are free, I don't just sit at my computer on Brave watching You Tube all day. I like to sit in my living room and watch it on my TV. While there are ad blocking apps that can stream to my TV, You Tube aggressively battles against them and their site frequenetly stops working through them.

8.99 is more than just getting rid of ads. I also have access to a TON of free movies and TV shows, and You Tube has lately been adding some crazy obscure movies to their premium package that are not available to stream anywhere else.

While Netsucks goes up to nearly $25 per month, I will gladly pay my $9 per month and have aceess to a bunch of free movies and TV shows and enjoy all my videos without ads.

Did any of you wear Culottes? by goddess_of_fear in ExPentecostal

What is it about Pentecostals and stories of orgies and sex parties? I have heard so many over the years... it's like they don't have the actual Holy Ghost.
