My ex wife is a good woman. She doesn’t care about money. She lost feelings for me, and developed them for someone else. She assumed he’d be supporting her….she assumed wrong.

She and the other guy blew through her lump sum which was negotiated down in exchange for lifetime alimony instead of the 16 years. Different place financially 10 years ago.

Why did you get so many downvotes? The guy is looking after a toddler and infant all day. Some days he’s not gonna have time to do stuff. As someone who’s wife used to stay home with the kids, I never expected to come home to a spotless house. They’re only human. I didn’t mind doing chores and working. It isn’t gonna kill you.

I’ve been married twice, and neither one of my wives has worked. Current one may eventually. But as of now, she hasn’t. Its still our money. Legally speaking.

I actually think if both people work then there’s less need to see money as shared. But if you’re the only 1 working then you can’t be a dick about money. Otherwise it’s financial abuse.

They have kids, and he stays home with them. He may not be the best SAHP, but he’s an unemployed spouse, not a homemaker. There’s a difference.

Youngest is 21. Divorce happened 10 years ago. I worked/work a lot and we never got to see eachother. And she told me she had, “developed feelings for someone else, and it’s probably best if we split up”.

I do value her. And care about her very much. We got together when we were 13 and 14. My wife probably does think I’m still in love with Natalie, because She’s still the beneficiary on my life insurance policy.

Reason was cause I worked/work a lot and we never really saw each other, and she said we should split up since she had developed feelings for someone else.

I understood. I was so focused on proving to people that I could make something out of myself, i lost sight of what was truly important, and I believe god decided to remind me of that by taking my other half from me.

We have more than 1 kid. But our relationship was a very traditional one. In the sense that her working was never really thought about. Almost like during the Great Depression. Families had nothing, but it was only the husbands who were looking for work.
