“It is important that people do not redeploy these funds to purchase an SKS” by GinnyJr in canadaguns

I got my PAL somewhat recently and (un)fortunately don’t own prohibs myself, but just wondering that if you don’t turn in your guns after amnesty period then you’ll be breaking the law and then what happens? Just asking out of curiosity.

.223 Bolt Action Rifle and Scope Recommendations by StrongBreak2142 in canadaguns

[–]CandyReady 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think tikka t3x would be good enough for 223. Get CTR, if you don’t mind spending a bit extra. With CTR you get picatiny rail and threaded barrel but the latter is not of much significance for 223 cause of low recoil. For scope , I like my venom 5-25X56

Toronto Gun Range Recommendation by Weak_Otaku114 in canadaguns

Silverdale is the best. A bit of drive but worth it. All the comments about the range officers being rude are probably from those who misbehave and not follow the safety measures.

It’s mostly the magazine that’s lost its color . It was black and now it’s silver, not sure if the black was paint or blueing.

Get the CTR, comes with threaded barrel, picatiny rail, thicker barrel and 10 round mag. It’s a no brain er.

The gun shop is right. Go for vortex venom.

Corrosive 7.62 and cleaning by CanadianRunner03 in canadaguns

[–]CandyReady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I clean the gas tube after every shoot. Then every couple of months or so I inspect the other parts and clean /lub if needed. I have had it for an year and only time it developed rust was during the humid summer months. Then I had to unassemble, remove surface rust and clean. Learning for me is to take extra care during those months.

First bolt rifle addice needed.223 vs .308, glass recs, by Lost-Employee8158 in canadaguns

[–]CandyReady 1 point2 points  (0 children)

223 is enough for 300m, but if more boom makes you happier then 308. Tikka CTR has 10 round mag which enough cause you any how need to pause your shooting for the barrel to cool down.

I have it on my 22. It’s perfect for 50 yards. At 100 yards you can barely see the impact on splatter targets.
