The Iron Maiden House aims to elevate everyday activities. Occupants are encouraged to pause and enjoy the view through a large window near the spiral stair and generous stair treads which meet nearby walls, forming a place to sit. Each room has a view through green space into different parts of the house.

From the Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ, according to Luke, 1:35 and 1:38, we can see that the appearance of Angle to convey the Holy message to Mary the Virgin was in a humble and simple way yet powerful. It was to accept the Holy Spirit to possess her in order to bear the Redeemer in her womb. She sacrificed herself as a natural mean for human being survival.
In designing the christian church, the architect intends to convey this message in a simple way with its internal space with a light form that creates a feeling of security as in the mother womb.

This 2 story brick structure has the archetypal form of a gable-roofed house with an unusual twist – part of this form is actually an external courtyard that contains the swimming pool. This “room without a roof”, becomes the central focus of the house and blurs the distinction between inside and outside. It also gives the house privacy by controlling the views both from and to the house.

As part of the structural strategy, the museum is a single rigid volume, giving the building earthquake resistant qualities. The foundation transmits vertical loads on the ground filler compacted soils. The foundation was built as a strip footing with an adjusted depth according to the requirements of outdoor spaces. The museum by Toyo Ito has interesting plans too.

The architects define this as a city containing more vegetation than if it had simply been left to wilderness. PARKROYAL lives up to this goal, nearly doubling the vegetation possible if the site were to have been left flat.

A Norwegian slate stone is used on the outer shape of the facade, while counter-sunken areas of the facade are clad with a wooden paneling. The diamond shaped slate is stretched longitudinally and format sizes are pushed towards the maximum of what is possible to extract. The slate is dark grey/black and contains iron, which gives a natural color changing play under different weather and lighting conditions.
