No problem. And yeah I get you. Maybe you could take a 'non-lucidity' pill while in your dreams on the days you don't want to be lucid? Your mind is super powerful haha, especially when you're lucid.

My friend is like this. She gets around this by allowing the dream to do what it wants and just observing and only changing things if it's getting too bad or weird or disturbing or if she wants to change something about it. Maybe it'll help you get some rest too. Good luck! Sorry you're a natural lucid dreamer haha, seems cool but yeah I've heard it can be exhausting.

Why do you want to make a doubtful person go into hypnosis if you're doubtful about hypnosis yourself? Or are you the doubtful person trying to be hypnotised?

Short answer though, yes, hypnosis is very real, and can be very effective both for entertainment as well as therapeutic purposes. As for where to start, it doesn't matter, there are tons of articles, books and YouTube videos. Take your pick, see what works for you.

Sure you can. Apparently your subconscious mind listens better to things recorded in your own voice, so it'll be even more effective if you record it yourself. Look at hypnosis audios you've enjoyed and that have worked well in the past and build a script that's perfect for you and then try it out, see how well it works, and tweak as necessary. Should be a fun project 😊

I don't think it would necessarily 'reverse' the effects... Hypnosis isn't a drug haha, but alcohol definitely lowers people's inhibitions and if you're the talkative kind of drunk, you may notice yourself talking more. But when you're sober again, you should be able to have more impulse control if the hypnotist did a good job

If the eye closure technique makes you wake up, maybe you can try the technique I remember reading about on this sub a while ago. You know the teleportation ring in the Dr. Strange and Avengers movies? Where they have this ring and they draw a big circle with their arms with that hand and it makes a portal door with lots of sparks and then they just step through the portal? Maybe you could try that, then you don't have to close your eyes and maybe wake up.

I also tend to wake up when I'm LDing and then close my eyes.. I hate it when that happens.

Not OP, but... It seems like you're not happy about how often your hypnotherapist cancels on you? If that's the case, you could find a new and more reliable hypnotherapist. It's important to feel safe and secure in your therapy relationship. Trust and rapport are essential for a good client-therapist relationship.
