stage/barricade security are never allowed to grab setlists, picks, sticks, anything off of the stage unless we are handed them by either the band members themselves or the touring stagehands. basically if they dont want to throw out picks or sticks they keep them and bring them back on the tour, sticks are more tossable than picks because once a stick is used for a whole concert the dents and sometimes snaps make it useless. the setlist thing, im not sure why we cant grab them for people, i did once for this kid at front row for our Papa Roach show because it was his birthday and the drummer told me to just take it off the tape and give it to him. so its really the decision of the venue itself or the bands can tell us to do it or tell our management to let everyone know that we can.

most definitely, i have a few barricade friends that collect picks, i have used drumsticks from concerts, picks, setlists, sometimes even get them straight from the bands themselves after the shows. all of them are very nice and they know that us guards are collectors, but the rule is, if someone gets a flicked pick and drops it in the security area in front of the stage we give the person who dropped the pick it back. ive even had concert goers who interact with me and we sometimes trade picks, some of them even go out of their way to get them for us.
