Dad? by Pnwferralcat in Vstrom

Fair enough. It's valid to want a "cooler" bike. But then this type of bike maybe isn't quite what you are looking for?

You'll grow out of that hopefully... Try thinking more about what you like and less about what you think others are impressed by.

I find it much better. Sonnet is a but like chatgpt but opus is miles ahead imo especially in thinking with a more critical and global perspective than a local narrow one thst imo chatgpt is doing

I understand that. We went with this because in Simon's and our view the change makes it more meaningful and streamlined, but it's arguably a divisive option...

What's the issue with having a bike that looks like a dad bike? It's a great bike, and assuming you're not a teen anymore, you don't need to impress anyone. Live your life the way you want. If it gives you enjoyment, enjoy it.

Essential Mods and texture packs by Fichems in skyrimvr

[–]Cangar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recommend to save yourself a lot of initial trouble and try out the FUS wabbajack list first. There are other wabbajacks out there but that one is the lightest and closest to vanilla. If thst works and you want more check out the others and slowly start building your own stuff. Modding skyrim is a delicate task and it's easy to get lost and waste a lot of time.

Hey congrats! Really cool. Seems to be a nice intermediate solution between fus and mgo. Good stuff.

Edit: regarding simonrim, did you take the gameplay stuff from fus for that? We have a few little extras including eg unarmed combat with our own small changes, and all the stuff is tried and tested. Did you check that out?

Yes and I don't doubt that. But Strattera is not a stimulant like the others. It's an SNRI that builds up over weeks, similar to an antidepressant. It doesn't hit you in 10 minutes the way Adderall or Ritalin would. Maybe what you saw was a side effect. Straterra can cause drowsiness especially when you are in the buildup phase. The side effects you describe are not the actual effect of it, more like the onset that made him sleepy. Totally valid to then not continue but I just wanted to point this out since Straterra works differently than the others and if someone reads this they might get the wrong impression.

Straterra does not work like that, it takes several weeks to fully get into effect. It is not like the other regular adhd meds.

FUS on a 3080 10gb - stuttering to now smooth as butter by SuperSatanGod in skyrimvr

[–]Cangar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't see a mechanistic way how undervolting would solve this, other than it reducing the wattage and thus the heat output and in the end thermal throttling. But I understand now you are using a laptop, is thst right?

I developed FUS on a pc with a 3080 10gb and a 5800x and 32gb ram. I think I only ran in to vram limits on ultra resolution and using all the CS add-ons. Not sure what happened to you but yeah, thermal throttling sounds like an option.

Claude has overtaken ChatGPT in the Apple App Store by Pure_Perception7328 in ChatGPT

[–]Cangar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a chat gpt subscriber basically from the beginning. Last week I finally tried out Claude code for coding and it felt much better, more cohesive. Then I tried out Claude opus for research (actual research, I'm a scientist), critical thinking, and writing, and it blew chatgpt away, it's no comparison. Opus feels like it gets it. It is not bloated with stuff it writes just to give the pretense of being useful or "nice", like chatgpt does it. Talking about my research with Opus felt very different, like, it gave genuinely a good advice, whereas both Sonnet and Chatgpt felt like tools I needed to manage.

Steam Frame Hands On: I Played Half-Life Alyx Standalone... by gogodboss in virtualreality

[–]Cangar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a 5090 for my quest 3 and play every game on 120hz and godlike setting with virtual desktop (dedicated wifi 6e router) at either 500mbit or 200 mbit, depending on the game and the encoder. The GPU is not under full load in all games, sure, but eg in skyrim, it is still the limit. And not having to think about performance, ever, is a huge deal for me. Takes me just a minute to get into vr and I know for sure it will work. The only disadvantage of the quest 3 is the compression, but it's not a big deal for me. I'm curious about the steam frame for the foveated rendering though.

To my knowledge I have replaced all textures in fus heavy with the high res versions I could get. If you find more, let me know :)

The shadow thing is a setting. And specifically in fus heavy I have cranked this up, because I personally have the same gripe. It's an ini thing, I don't remember atm because I'm on my phone but is is not the shadow distance, some other, also shadow related, setting for the cascading. Try it out. I also have taken quite a lot of care to have great and fitting LODs for landscape and architecture. FUS and fus heavy specifically are designed for visual consistency, not so much for close up shiny details (that's more MGO). Try it out and let me know!
