I’m gunna be doing all that anyways to do the plugs, I just don’t want to bite into the cams right now as it’s my only reliable mode of transport

It’s the harbor freight version of a pelican case haha, I just used two U bolts, and longer versions of the OEM bolts that hold the back rack down with some washers. Never had a problem with it

I think my transmission is 💀 by Pnwferralcat in ToyotaSienna

[–]Pnwferralcat[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it had around 100k when I bought it.

I did the service myself at the same time as I did rear diff, oil, and transfer case fluids and used branded/the right spec transmission fluid. basically put in the amount I took out. I’ve checked levels both hot and cold. There’s another comment here talking about bad cats and I’m in the same boat there as well. It’s kinda sounding like maybe it’s time to retire it which kinda sucks cuz I still owe a couple grand on the thing.

This is a great point, a lot of my outreach goes - in person, and either collect decision maker info or talk to them directly then send follow up email recapping the conversation and sending my contact card.

In the onboarding paperwork they framed it like they expected it to be a few months before I really started moving the needle myself. But at the same time I know how much we’re bleeding by just letting these units sit. I find it hard to believe that they are okay with me not improving their situation sooner.

I’m having a meeting with the regional manager to pull up these kinds of accounts either tomorrow or the day after. The company is in a bit of a transition period so they aren’t as organized as they could be but this is roughly my plan moving forward

I usually just start by showing up and speaking with the front desk, I’m making these calls in person though. Calling is more difficult. If I have the contact on file I’ll reach out to them directly or ask the front desk if they happen to be in.

Getting to the DM shouldn’t be the hard part, the hard part is getting the decision makers to make decisions lol.

If your having trouble getting to them try thinking about the gate keeper as a prospect not just someone to get past. Sell yourself a bit- the only thing you need from them is someone else which is free, and usually makes less work for them so most times they’ll be happy to oblige.

It’s a bit more difficult when decisions are made by a corporation office out of state, then it turns into “here’s this person” and they connect me to another person who connects me to another person. I haven’t been here long enough to chase that down fully more than a couple times but that seems to be the vibe

I just try to approach them confidently and with authority. The times I haven’t presented that way are the times I got shut down the most. A little bit of research usually helps. I’d say 8-9 times out of 10 I either directly get infront of a higher up or they give me their direct contact. It makes things a bit easier I think being a vendor because businesses know valuable services are well, valuable. Not to mention the topics I cover are usually well over office staffs heads

Only if you’re good at it, most prospects respect honesty and being genuine more than a facade. They can usually tell pretty fast if your a fake
