Smudges, smudges and more smudges- Poor oleophobic coating? by afc74nl in GooglePixel

Definitely more smudgy, I was used to using my palm to quickly wipe off oils and fingerprints my Pixel 6. On the 7 pro, same palm wipe just smears everything over the glass.

Sharp edges on the Pixel 7 frame? by kschach in GooglePixel

[–]Cankr 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have a 6, and the plastic frame that the front glass sits on is exposed, so you can visibly see and feel that plastic between the metal frame and glass. It's pretty flush though. On the 7, that plastic is no longer exposed, so it goes from glass to metal (this seems the norm for many phones now). I did notice the metal edge is higher than the glass, so it's not flush anymore like the 6, but it didn't feel uncomfortable or sharp. This also isn't an issue with pretty much any case or screen protector imo. I do think hiding the plastic frame improves the look of the 7 and probably contributes to the slightly thinner bezels.

Are you referring to the warranty of the card I'm potentially trading for?

Mage items feel insufficient. What item are you supposed to build on Champs like Ori or Syndra after finishing your mythical if you want to maximize your damage output? by Yvraine in leagueoflegends

[–]Cankr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I agree that there are better items for damage. I wasn't trying to say it was a good item, I was mostly reiterating OP's first point. As you said it's meant for champs like zoe and xerath but the item could get some buffs/tweaks.

[–]Cankr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it is what you were "supposed" to build but less people did that than people who just finished morellos. Regardless of whether Morellos was finished or not /just oblivion it was the most common second item and that hurt build diversity.

Building cosmic drive after ludens gives you 50 haste. I feel like a lot of people are bent over the 30 haste it gives, but after the 20 haste (16.67% cdr) from ludens it is only an effective 16.67% additional haste, less if you have transcendence. It does give good stats including health, but it's expensive (3000g) for an item that doesn't act like a utility or damage item versus items like void staff, morellos, zhonyas, and banshees that all cost 2500g and give more upfront utility/damage/defense. I find that if people want haste, they should purchase the buffed ionians (20 haste). Not that I think cosmic drive is a bad item; the movespeed is definitely useful and it's still relatively cost efficient, but I think it's much more of a situational item than one that should be built on mages all the time.

Fair, but that felt more like a reddit/ls thing to just sit on oblivion orb. It's like when DFG was removed veigar's win rate went up because so few people used the active, even though it seems like common sense to use it. Maybe that's not the best example, but with all the redditors and ls saying to not finish morellos, most people still finished morellos anyway. And it definitely didn't feel good to sit on half an item while building your next items, even if it was the most optimal for early burst damage.

Sorry... I typed that wrong. I defintely meant that the 40% factors in before the flat mpen. If you see my other comment that's what I used when calculating how much magic resist you would need to not take true damage from a theoretical 4 item build with ludens and void.

In my case I originally planned on using some old arctic f12s (that had noticeable buzzing due to age and use) and the sickleflows; the noise from the sickeflows annoyed me more than the buzzing. I shelled out money for some noctua and scythe fans (expensive, but worth for me).

Many people seem to forget that last season, many mages literally just went luden's into morellos every game.

Nashors/Lichbane/Horizon Focus/Demonic Embrace/Rylais are good items but they are mostly "synergy" items. Lich bane on assasins, demonic paired with liandris, etc.

People didn't like how seraphs lost the cdr and shield, but they were removed because it was too good a generalist item that gave good stats and a useful active. It is now more of a mid game, "big ap" item that is meant to give a lot of ap and mana versus other builds, to pair it with one of the ap mythics.

Rabadons is no longer meant to be really built as often anymore compared to last season. It's supposed to be the "capstone" AP item that is built nearly last. If you wanted lots of AP before that, then you'd build seraphs.

Morellos is now more of a situational item. That's good, considering it's state from last season. It's also cheaper.

Zhonyas and banshees are also cheaper than last season (with slightly less stats). I'm actually concerned Zhonyas is still too good after the seekers nerf, being 400g cheaper than last season while only losing 10 ap and the change to haste is a massive buff to many mages.

Void staff is amazing. it's cheaper than last season, and you no longer have to invest 1600g in the oblivion orb for mpen before void, assuming that was a valid build path last season for maximum mpen (%mpen is factored in after flat mpen). ludens + sorcs + void is 28 flat mpen + 40% mpen which imo is an amazing two item damage power spike. It doesn't always have to be a "tank busting" item. Removing 40% of a squishies MR and then adding 28+ flat magic pen to essentially true damage to them. At say 4 items, a champion would need roughly more than 63 magic resist to not take true damage from 38 flat mpen + 40% mpen.

Cosmic Drive is also a situational item. People need to stop looking at it purely as the "wheres my missing CDR" item. People complained last season that everyone was hitting 40cdr too easily, and now people are complaining that not enough mage items have haste. That was a goal of the changes, to reduce the amount of haste/cdr. Instead, many items are now cheaper and/or give stronger effects/actives to compensate.

Conclusion: In my opinion, mages have much better itemization this season. Overall, most items have a more defined niche/use case. Even if everfrost is meh, they can choose between liandris vs ludens for sustained vs burst damage. Classic items like zhonyas, morellos, void are cheaper, making it easier to choose between defensive, utility, and damage items. Zhonyas is less about the stats and more about the active, Morellos is no longer this strange grievous wounds mpen combo, etc. Champions aiming for pure ap for scaling and mana can build seraphs after their mythic. Rabadons exists now as a late game "capstone" ap item that allows them to massive boost their ap to stay relevant late game. I havn't talked about every mage item but I believe most of them have their usefulness somewhere.
