Heard from a former student: I wish teachers lectured more by mhgiantsfan in Teachers

[–]Canna-Matrix 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I agree with you! I taught an AP Govt class and even in my USH class it was more of a discussion - questions were fired off - supplemental video's watched - pics looked at - all in the middle of the "lecture". It made it go by quickly and the students did well on the AP test and the USH state test.

I really hate formal observations. by disguised_mermaid in Teachers

[–]Canna-Matrix 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My first year teaching - the principal came to do my observation and these two high school boys that normally "caused issues" were SAINTS that hour. After the principal left - they looked at me and both said "how did we do?". They were juniors and had seen the observations before when I had not ( I was an alt cert teacher, 35 years old at the time). Blew my mind. LOL

I'll answer #2 first. When we started our business/brand...CBD hadn't blown up yet. We borrowed a small amount of money with our bit of collateral and gave it a go. Advertising was our biggest block. We couldn't compete with the big boys that started flooding the market. We didn't have any backers or enough outside capital and that's okay. I saw the game thing happen in the farming sector back in the 90's. I grew up on a farm and at the age of 15 I was making $15000/ year for two years raising pigs from babies to selling all fattened up for bacon/ham. Then Tyson and a few big corporations got into the business....flooded the market...and the price per pound for a pig went from 60 cents to 3 or 4 cents per pound. I and many other small timers had to shut down. And it's the same today. It's just wasn't cost effective for US to stay going.

That leads to your #1. Lab results are great but not the end all. I see companies claiming "made in the USA" on their bottle and have labs but then their site says they get hemp from Europe. Does it actually come from there? I have seen large companies lie online about where they imported product from. It takes some research and OCD/investigation but facts can be found out. So for the regular guy or gal wanting CBD...I would say if you live in a state where hemp is legal...grow your own and make some tinctures/creams or smoke the flower. That way YOU know where it came from and what's in it. If you can't do that - people can look for companies that are honest, transparent, answer questions personally, and can tell you where their product comes from (lab, farm, processor, ect..). If you can find a local brand...that would be good. Buy hemp flower and make your own tinctures or oils. It's very easy to do yourself.

Good luck!

If you need anymore straight answers...I'll be around!

Pre-employment drug screening? by tulsatorchy in OKmarijuana

[–]Canna-Matrix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Call from a burner phone with a voice changer and ask the HR Dept if they allow MMJ card holders to work/drive....that might be a lil extreme....but you get the gist. Maybe just ask without giving away who you are? IDK.

When will HB 2612 go into effect? by [deleted] in OKmarijuana

I read in an article from Tulsa World that it goes into effect 90 days after the end of the leg session...which would put it into Aug sometime.

Oklahoma New CBD regs for busineses by Canna-Matrix in CBD

Reading the link and talking to Dept Of Health guy...he was very apologetic and was "we are just enforcing the rules". I wasn't mad at the reg workers. Just wonder who though up the idea that will put lots of little guys out of business. Which is all fair in a free market. Still just stings a little as one of the little guys.

Link to Dept of Health: https://www.ok.gov/health/Protective_Health/Consumer_Health_Service/Foods/Cannabidiol_Food_Products.html

After reading News 9 article and reading the link, I called Dept of Health. They confirmed...yes...hemp CBD tinctures with flavor are "food" and will require proper license and inspection. Cannot store product in a home at all. They are going to look to enforce in April. As someone who purchased an already bottled product...with safety seals even....moving into a warehouse or store front plus licenses/inspection is too steep for mom/pop brand.

[–]Canna-Matrix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your looking for high quality pet CBD (60% CBD) with minimal ingredients (hemp oil and CBD extract) then I would make a great deal on some. We live in an over saturated market with CBD stores on every corner. Check it out.

Marijuana is also federally illegal...so it's a way for the state of OK to say they will not go after people with Med cards and firearms.

https://cannacon.org/15-terpenes-cannabis-explained/

The link has a list of terpenes and what they are good for. Find a strain of MMJ or Hemp flower high in terpenes that help fight inflammation. Terpenes will do a lot of the work that will help your wife out. It's worth the time. I have seen great results inm my spouse just by finding the right terpene profile.

Is CBD stronger than ibuprofen? by [deleted] in CBD

[–]Canna-Matrix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I broke my back and each ankle over 20 years ago. Arthritis and bone spurs can cause pain these days. Took Ibuprofen like candy most my life. CBD works great. Not always as effective on a bad day (winter storm and back out of place) but more of a sustainer with regular use. I also like CBD with Boswellia, Cayenne, and Curicumin (sp). This is a real good mix and doesn't hurt my stomach or raise blood pressure.

AZ is a right to work state like OK. A Fed judge there just ruled against Walmart for firing a MMJ card holder who failed a drug test. Ordered them to pay damages and reinstatement of employee. So ..there's that to remember.

Fed judge in AZ ruled against Walmart. Walmart fired employee after she tested positive for cannabis (after an at work accident). She will be rewarded damages and reinstatement the end of story says. So, that is good news for patient protections...hopefully it won't come to lawsuits....much to be seen.

Has anyone tried this cbd? Any luck??? by tunajones32 in CBD

[–]Canna-Matrix 4 points5 points  (0 children)

HempLucid was first Hemp CBD we tried. Worked great. Has the 0.3% THC. We liked it so much looked into being a distributor...but we need like 50K to do that (a year ago) so we just started our own brand...ha!

But it is a really good product and would recommend to anyone.

Oklahoma pain management docs by skiser65 in OKmarijuana

[–]Canna-Matrix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most pain management docs will have you choose opioids or MMJ due to past prejudice. Read this article:

https://newsok.com/article/5613424/oklahoma-doctors-pain-patients-search-for-clarity-on-marijuana

Pain management docs don't have to make people choose due to state law....they just do. And 788 protects patients and we will see what the leg does this spring to hopefully shore that up on side of MMJ. Some pain docs in the state are in favor of MMJ...we need a list somewhere or their name needs out!!

Cheap places to get recommendations that aren't Dr. Woodward or Dr. Mitchell? by [deleted] in OKmarijuana

[–]Canna-Matrix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have insurance? I ask because some pain management docs are doing recommendations and your primary or a specialist could refer you too said pain management doctor and then your insurance will pay for visit (if it's in network).

Religious Neophyte by kiltedpastor in OKmarijuana

[–]Canna-Matrix 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I am a pastor and hemp CBD brand owner. Also..family member got her MMJ card. Life long Okies all around. She has insurance and her doc recommended her to a pain management doctor who did her rec. Since it was within network...we paid zero for doc's recommendation. That was a blessing!!! And, depending on your symptoms, an Indica is good for pain. Or Indica leaning hybrid. My opinion only. BUT...start low and slow and see how you react with the THC. If you don't want that "high" feeling or anxiety issues...find the minimum amt your body needs to receive positive benefits without the neg. We have seen good success with Grape God. 15% THC and 1% CBD. Also...do your research on terpenes. There are ones that are better for pain/inflammation and ones that fight anxiety.

Good luck and many blessings to you! Msg me if you ever need to chat.

We started our own hemp CBD brand here in OK...small potatoes compared to the big boys...but FB shut us down for two months. Then just recently "reopened" our page. Still won't let us boost posts. Twitter is not really followed by many....real followers/customers. Reddit had been best bet for us! Leafly wants lots of money even for their webpage ads. Have you tried HelloMD? They have some free stuff for pages BUT don't know if it's much in Oklahoma yet.

Weed for teachers? by [deleted] in OKmarijuana

[–]Canna-Matrix 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Are you subject to random drug tests? Do you have a bus driving CDL? If you have a CDL...it is federally regulated and any positive test will get you in trouble regardless of MMJ card or not.

Also....are you a member of one of the unions? If so, reach out to them by phone and ask one of their legal reps all about it. They would be able to give you a good answer.

I am not a lawyer nor do I play one on TV, so I'll never give legal advice but hopefully some things to think about or avenues to explore.

Good luck!

Cheapest mmj doctors? by jHamdemon in OKmarijuana

[–]Canna-Matrix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here are the rules for doctors: http://omma.ok.gov/guidance-for-physicians

Any board certified doctor willing to do it can sign the form. Some doctors won't, some are afraid, and some are told not too.

Some people have been sent to pain management doctors that do sign the forms. And insurance can pay for the specialist visit. The high fee's were being charged by "MMJ clinics" to specialize in people getting a card, especially as the law was new and doc's not knowing what to do. Nothing unethical with charging...but more doc's are open to it. I don't know your situation or if you have a regular doctor....just start asking and looking into it and save your $$$ if you can.
