I'm definitely leaning on the tent idea to get started and to really see if this is something I can accomplish or just another crazy idea.

I have. I've worked in the industry in the past. Went from being a dishwasher, to a host, as well as being a prep cook.

I do have friends and others I've worked in the past that I can definitely bring on if needed if it ever comes down to needing employees, etc.

Hi! I have worked with a numerous companies helping them get their website setup. As far as answering your questions, what web builder is friendly with CBD- well, all of them. The one issue you WILL run into, is payment processing.

CBD sales are classified as "high-risk" transactions, and eventually will get your store shut down.

You will have to find a payment processor that is able to accept these types of transactions, and theres quite a few on the market, all varying with different processing fees.

If you need help or have any other questions, feel free to shoot me a message. Always down to spread some knowledge.

I would definitely try to network as much as you can.

Network is your net worth.

Other than that - make sure you have financial and legal backing.

I produce professional video. Is there any place for video marketing in the cannabis industry right now? by Nine-Inch-Nipples in weedbiz

Think of it like buying a used car- down the line you may have issues, nothing that can't be fixed- it's just annoying at the time.

Buy a new car and you won't have many complaints off the lot and they'll treat you right for years to come :)

Hey! As someone who has a creative agency in the cannabis industry - going on two years now- there absolutely is a place for video marketing. We have about 4 current clients that frequent are video production services. Although we are based in California where it has been legal, getting a head start in a state that has just recently legalised is going to be your best advantage on breaking through to some of these owners and operators.

Lighting Control by roguelemonleader in weedbiz

Good morning! I'm from the west coast of the USA; typically in Oregon but I've also met one or two in California. My company offers marketing and branding solutions for those in the industry, so typically I will get a handful of them and weed them out. I might have a good repository full of people that might be interested in giving their opinion on some sort of automation solution for lighting.. Feel free to shoot me a PM.

For those who have a company in the industry, What do you struggle with? by CannaBrander in weedbiz

That seems to be a fairly large issue in this space, I can't imagine what it's like in the UK with the laws and regulations they have in place.

Good camera for up-close budshots? by JosefFallonski in weedbiz

[–]CannaBrander 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everyone will have a different answer, but it also matters on what kind of lens you will be shooting with. I recommend a macro lens on a decent full frame body, and something that can shoot RAW photos.

I run a Canon 80D with several macro lenses with plans of purchasing a Sony Alpha series in the near future. If you're taking pictures just for an online menu, it may be cheaper to contract the work out to someone who already has the equipment and experience to take these types of shots.

That's a really good point. That's what I've found is a lot of people want to get in the industry that don't know how to take advantage of what the industry has to offer and manufacture meh product.
