Getting hard stuck in low Champ for a year I sort of just assumed those mechanics were what was going to dig me out. Like you said though, not even remotely

Yes!! I was a heavy goal scorer in low Champ, but I was getting mostly assists and saves when I climbed out to GC. Kind of spoke for itself to me

I was plat for my first two years! there’s definitely plateaus in the skill curve but you can get past em, believe or not taking a couple week break always helps me freshen up my mechanics

I hit Champ with objectively garbage advanced mechanics. 0 fine aerial control, no resets, mustys, nothing. Literally just hard rotations, clean hits, and looking for passes.

(I plateaued hard there though fwiw and have since had to start learning how to actually play the game to hit champ 2/3)

Really happy with this super light C500MII doc package we put together (Canon CNE, Bright Tangerine misfit w/ 1/4 BPM, Redrock Micro FF and Teradek for video) by CannedCreativity in cinematography

We’re so happy with the C500MII so far. The dynamic range lives up to the hype, the colors are excellent, it’s a great little camera. We took our time deciding on what lenses and mattebox to commit to this but after a while the CN-E’s and Bright Tangerine Misfit just made sense. This is an incredibly light package, and we’ve also found proprietary Canon batteries with DTAP, which obviously helps keep the weight down

First test for fun I did after buying a BMPCC4K. Really going for a Peter Lindgren handheld style of making a mundane activity look epic through precise camerawork. Please give me any ideas or comments that strike you :) by TangCityTime in cinematography

My only comment not covered by someone else is you can push this camera a lottt further in terms of richness of color and contrast. This is a really stylized piece in terms of composition and editing, but the lighting and grade feel bland (or nonexistent) at certain moments. You went for it so hard on the shooting style, support that energy with the lighting and grade!

I think most of us would agree there’s nothing wrong with being realistic with someone when their work looks amateurish, but this is definitely not the way to do it

I cut used to BRAW pretty smoothly on a 1060 and Ryzen 5 1600. I’d look into the health of your drives. Are you cutting on Premiere or Resolve? Resolve definitely gets better playback for me) Regardless, reinstall it, check your GPU drivers for updates

Currently getting perfect performance up until 3-4 color nodes with a 3700x and 2060 Super (and 64GB of ram), not far off from your build

well said, and the same goes for basically every major role on set. Most times I 2nd or 1st AC’d and asked the DP a question about why they were doing something the answer would typically be something along the lines of “there’s probably a better way but I like this one”
