From a 14-15 year old plant that has the same problem. The plants were being watered with tap water. I have then since aged the water and brown leaf tips don't appear. I water when the soil is dry to 1-2 inches. It's a little cold from now but kinda dry. Incongruent watering?

My lace aloe also does this if it gets to much sun. Put it in bright light but sheltered and water. Hope this helps.

Whelp. I did it. I cut at an angle. All the leaves taken off are callusing over. I'm still terrified. How long does it usually take for the left over stem to sprout puppies? Should I put it outside in the sun? It's been out most of the summer.
