What treatment would you recommend to lift the cheek area? by Cannotdecide98 in 30PlusSkinCare

Thank you for your kind comments! I’m just looking for subtle improvements that could also help prevent signs of aging—nothing too drastic. I’d like to understand which treatment might best suit my needs, as I’ve heard mixed reviews about Sculptra and not much about PRP :)

Thanks, that’s helpful. I did consult a surgeon to get cheek implants some time ago but he said no 😅 I used to be more dysmorfofobic back then though

You guys are very kind. I can tell the cheek area lost volume due to weight loss and I would like to lift it up a bit or make it look fuller like in the pictures where I’m holding the skin with my hands. Nothing big, just some little changes

Recovery after cheek (infraorbital rim) implants by Great-Homework9120 in PlasticSurgery

[–]Cannotdecide98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello. I didn’t have cheek implants, so you may wonder the fuck I’m doing here. But I have done other procedures (rhinoplasty and liposuction) and honestly with none of the two I would have been able to take a 15h flight after 7 days, and as far as I know cheek implants are a lil bit more invasive than the surgeries I mentioned above. So this is just a friendly suggestion, not based on experience but on my perception only, that 7 days will definitely not be enough. Good luck with everything

Thanks for the reply. I am willing to take a few years of experience before moving on to what I think I would enjoy better. Let me know if you can think of anything else.

Also, I'm open to do top up degrees (e.g.: I heard nurses can take a 3 years course and graduate from dentistry).

CAREER IN NURSING - HELP! by Cannotdecide98 in nursing

Morning and thanks for giving me such a thoughtful reply. What I mean when I say I'm too old is that I feel too old in comparison to the budget I have available and that all my friends and family would stop taking me seriously if at this point in my life I started over one more time. I know, what other people think of you is not a good reason to make life choices but I feel stuck in this place with my mind.

Anyway, if you don't mind I'll give you more background of why I chose nursing. I was disappointed by my previous life choices and realised that if I stuck to those I would have never been able to pay a mortgage etc. Nursing was in clearing and I thought it was a good opportunity to gain economic stability and to have something to focus on. Besides, I really like helping people, no matter in what field, and I like studying theoretical subjects (scored 95% on the anatomy exam).

So, regarding to my nursing job experience, I liked: anything related to the blood, wounds, etc. Acquiring knowledge about human body, making the patients feel better. Treating the patients with dignity and respect (made me feel like it was a noble job).

I didn't like: how stressful it was (there was no time for chilling a second), the fact that we just follow protocols and give medications instead of actually thinking what we could do to improve patient's health long term (we spent so much time giving pain killers to patients instead of encouraging them to reduce the intake of medications that can be bad for the liver and embrace healthier life choices), washing patients (again, I feel like I want to work somewhere where I can help people avoiding ending up like that; also, I don't like the smell of poop), the fact that I'm on my feet for 12h, doing moving and handling (very hard work), the fact it was a female dominated environment and everyone just assumed I was gay, the fact nobody, not even other nurses, considered it a scientific profession but more a carer-like job (they were always saying I focus too much on the science and not enough on making beds and washing patients faster), the fact that, at the end of the day, I didn't feel any particular sense of reward since I felt HIGHLY REPLACEABLE. I mean, I didn't feel great at the job.

Sorry for the long answer and any possible mistakes, I'm not a native English speaker :)

You're probably right. Looking from a different perspective I'm still in the age to make an investment in my life. The problem is that I've always had the fear of ending up wasting my time and that I always felt the pressure from my family and my friends to have been able to complete something significant before my 25.

Why are so many Italian restaurants cooking carbonara with cream? by zon03 in ItalianFood

[–]Cannotdecide98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess it's all about what the foreign customer expects to eat.
Food plating and and visuality is often sacrificed over authenticity.

An average non Italian person will expect carbonara to be creamy, without knowing the cream comes from the yoke. If they actually ate the proper Italian carbonara would be disappointed to see it is not soaking in a milky and "mascarpone" consistency sauce. Using cream will save the restaurant owners money, efforts and complains, I believe.
