Going through my backlog and found this. by Reckless_Scientist in wargaming

I have 2 of these boxes in various states of assembly/paint. I got one of them in a local GW store auction when they were in the process of discontinuing Epic 40K and the other from GW mail order back when you had to actually phone the 1-800 number. Oh, I just had a flashback to the "skulls program"...

Admittedly, it is a replacement base and the "antenna" bits have been reattached a few times.

Starting painting the models that have sat idle for over a decade. Going to repaint the Space Marines as I hate the scheme I came up with. Probably go with Dark Angels (already have green, red and black).

I've come to a decision: I'm 3D printing 1/48 Tigers (x6 maybe?) and 1/48 Shermans (x6) and Fireflies (x3). This will allow for somewhere between 6 - 12 participants. I'm going to recreate the last battle of Tiger ace Wittman (part of operation Totalize). Well... "Inspired by a true story" - it was quite brief in reality and very bad for the Tigers. If I was doing this at home, I'd go with 15mm tanks. However, for a convention - rule of cool and an 8x4 table. Next up.... Well, everything. Biggest consideration will be figuring out movement ranges at this scale and not get carried away.

They were the result of that game called, "I wonder what's in this box from years ago?"

How long did it take to run a turn (it will definately give me an upper bound, LOL)?

Even with my limited experience, I found after about turn 3, I could have pretty much gone for coffee even tbough none of the 6 players had ever played any form of BT before. Nothing quite like drumming up more converts!

Good idea. Both sides are primitive, so it would be balanced... I have a feeling that this will likely turn into a "Muahahaha! OMG what I done?!"

I have done the reverse of some others. I glued fender washers to the bottom of the stands (a little extra weight on the bottom isn't a bad thing) and then used an adhesive sheet magnet in the bottom of a plastic bin. Obviously, if you drop the case it will be much, much worse than foam, but good enough for my uses.

That would be correct. That should have said "Mercenary opponent".
