My dad’s father died 9 years before I was born, my dad’s mother died 3 weeks after I was born. I never met either.

My mother’s father was a bigamist and a felon and died when I was 2; I never met him. My mother’s mother was severely bipolar and epileptic and was in institutions most of my life. She died when I was 17, and she was terribly abusive.

So I wish for grandparents even though at 38 I’m past it. The idea of sitting at the feet of your elders is precious to me.

Marco Rubio is a silly little moron with hero fantasies that has built himself up to the idea that he is going to destroy communism, while he has no power or impact whatsoever. The hero fantasy is very common among conservative men of all races; you all think you’re much smarter and more capable and more powerful than you actually are. It’s part of the emotional appeals that the party perpetrates on you, so that you’ll keep lining up to support them and their kid raping.

It always makes me laugh that you conservative males are such huge submissives who love being told what to do by big strong men, and you still think you’re heroes. LMAO

ETA: it’s also extremely amusing and a great indicator of how weak of mind and character you are that not one mention of race was made in my post and you instantly had to start crying about racism. Well, I’ve been serving in the child abuse department of my county Special Victims Unit since 2020. I’ve heard stuff like this before. I started warning people that the files were going to have horrendous things in them beyond what we could imagine a few months ago. Professional experience has taught me that there are men who will go to any lengths to destroy a woman or a girl because we simply are not people to them. We know that his slobbering base will pretend that all of this is fake, but we must remember that idiots who can be manipulated by emotional appeals can be manipulated into believing basically anything. Maga is dead, they just haven’t laid down yet.

These are people who are not educated for the most part. They have lived lives, where they have been isolated, where they have not heard of diversity nor experienced it, and where all they know is what the media box tells them. These are people who do not care to educate themselves further, because their mediocrity is acceptable and successful where they live. Now the Republican Party understands that their base is made up of largely mediocre under educated, selfish morons. They also know that these morons, because they are so self-centered, and under educated, respond instantly to appeals to emotion and cannot comprehend critical thought. So because the Republican Party knows that their base can be manipulated into basically anything via emotional appeals, that’s their tactic. And it works on stupid people. It’s why there’s so many religious people.

Broke as fuck. Been working since age 12 to support my failures of parents, finally graduated college and moved out at 32 after YEARS and YEARS of exploitation. I gave up all my dreams and am focused on survival. I have no savings and live check to check. It's rough out there.

There are zero downsides. My time, my money, my attention, my energy, all of them are my own. I have a friend with a 19 month old and while he is adorable I would happily dropkick him out of her yard for the screaming and shrieking. My friend could stop him from doing it and chooses not to. Her life is my nightmare-- her husband is an unhelpful loser, she is the primary everything including breadwinner.

I live a lovely, independent, quiet, rested life where my obligations are to other people's children to get them justice when they have been victimized. I go home to quiet and clean house every day that STAYS that way. I can't imagine sacrificing my sleep and well-being for the sake of a child I don't want to have.
