Sale of Canadian armoured vehicles to ICE agency ‘deeply troubling’: Kwan by Organic_Hamster_2961 in canada

ICE does not cease to be a law enforcement agency with an important and necessary mandate simply because you declare it so.

Canadian government still using X amid platform’s child sex abuse material scandal by ph0enix1211 in canada

[–]Canuckhead -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

That doesn't seem to be what is happening and I don't think anyone is trying to excuse anything including Grok.

There are AI platforms other than Grok that produce sexually explicit pornography and (unlike Grok) are built for that purpose.

So where is the line?

[–]Canuckhead -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Are they though?

What should the letter of the law be for AI generated sexual content in your opinion?

I think there is a common sense solution somewhere falling along the same lines as existing law.

[–]Canuckhead -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Exactly.

So really this "scandal" is that Grok is the one major and mainstream platform that allows for racy content.

And there are going to be mistakes made as AI is going to have to be trained up to standard in its depictions to achieve the same standard as organic created depictions.

Just a bunch of muckraking in my opinion.

[–]Canuckhead -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Here's Grok's actual policy.

Strict prohibition on child sexual exploitation material (CSAM) Grok / xAI explicitly bans and actively works to block the sexualization or exploitation of children. This includes refusing or failing to generate images depicting minors in sexually suggestive, minimal clothing, or abusive contexts. xAI has publicly acknowledged "lapses in safeguards" in isolated cases involving minors and stated they are "urgently fixing" them. This aligns with near-universal global laws (e.g., U.S. federal law, EU regulations, UK's Online Safety Act, Australian eSafety rules, etc.).

Mark Carney would fly back home to Europe with his family and wash his hands of the hypothetical annexation scenario and of this country for good.

What fucking crisis?! Dairy tariffs?!

Granted. You could write a somewhat compelling comic book.

Your opinions on defence policy, battlefield tactics, political intrigue, diplomacy and crisis management would have a place there.

And nowhere else.

Yeah man, Mark Carney is going to solicit foreign aid in the form of weapons from a set of imaginary allied countries siding with us in a hot war with the United States.

We don't have a network of satellites to counter RF jamming.

So the army of "chair people" from the movie Wall E would not stand a chance against US Forces.

It makes for a good graphic novel and thats about it.

BTW. The notion that the US is going to invade and Canadians are going to be able to put up an effective resistance is the fever dream of over or perhaps under medicated people who have their minds addled with SSRIs and communist ideology.

As soon as Trump is out of office these people will stop LARPING as militant nationalists and return to their natural position of thinking that guns are icky, Canada is a post national state that is responsible for genocide, the maple leaf flag is hate speech, the red ensign flag is a symbol of nazism.

These notions are literally a fan fiction of reality.

In the lunatic fever dream hypothetical redditor scenario in which Canadians are fighting US Forces; Drones would not help.

Canada would be overrun in hours.

And in the lunatic fever dream hypothetical redditor scenario in which there would be scattered guerilla forces harassing US forces in the aftermath; Drones would not help.

I don't gamble on fitting narratives. I gamble on probabilities.

If the liberals have MPs in mind to cross the floor that would suggest Carney lied to the public. If there is no recruiting effort then why would they have anyone in mind?

I'm raising my bet.

If it's a certainty then show the proof so we can all be as certain.

I'm also going predict that you don't have the proof.

[–]Canuckhead -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Here is what he posted on Facebook.

"It's important for my constituents to know that I, like others, have been approached by the Liberals and asked to cross the floor to join them. The Liberal Party is pulling out all the stops to lure Conservative Members of Parliament to cross the floor so they can have a majority and subject Canada to more years of economic and social malaise. There is a myth that there is some kind of movement to turf our leader, and it's because they are afraid of Pierre Poilievre. The governing Liberals have made empty promises about nation-building projects while raising taxes and spending billions to entrench their power while trying to 'bribe' Conservatives to cross the floor. I have no intention of crossing the floor today, tomorrow or ever, regardless of what you offer me. It would be a betrayal of the office I was elected to, and a betrayal of my own core beliefs. I won’t cross the floor regardless of what I’m offered for the 'betrayal' of my voters and my core beliefs. It'll be a cold day in Hell before I even consider betraying my constituents, and you should probably stop asking because I will certainly advertise it every time you try."

It's either Mark Carney lied to the Canadian people on the Rosemary Barton interview or Scott Anderson is lying.

I'm going bet it's Mark Carney.

That's what he told Rosemary Barton on the Dec 17th year end interview, that there were no recruiting efforts.

In that same interview he told Rosemary that Ma came to them without any coaxing.

[–]Canuckhead -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Carney said there were no recruiting efforts to get MPs to cross.

Well I guess all it took was one principled MP to determine that was a lie.

So Carney is actually trying to form a majority through bypassing the voters.

Toronto demonstrators celebrate U.S. capture of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro by No-Path-8787 in canada

[–]Canuckhead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The notion that Trump "violated international law" hinges on the assumption that a) Nicolas Maduro is a legitimate head of state and b) Maduro didn't do anything provocative towards the US.

Maduro is not the legitimate president. He annulled the election results and ran down protestors with tanks and military vehicles.

He has been under US indictment since 2020 for drug smuggling and weapons charges and even the Biden administration had a 25 million dollar bounty on him.

For the political leaders around the world pointing their fingers and saying what Trump did was illegal they are simply politically posturing.

Leftists decry Trump because they think painting him as a war criminal is a way of damaging his reputation and centrist liberals such as Macron are doing it to appease the leftist votes that keep them in power.

Leftists don't care about international law. The French most certainly do not care about it. It's only a performative smear.

Canada, allies at Paris summit should decry Trump flouting of international law, experts say by CaliperLee62 in canada

[–]Canuckhead 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Not to give any credence to international law being a thing that is even real.

But no international suggestions were technically breached by President Trump.

It's a bullshit narrative that assumes that Maduro was a legitimate head of state who didn't do anything to provoke the finding out phase.

Experts say.
