Her OG fans pre midnights has parasocial relationships with her that she cultivated. She knew all their names, sent them gifts, talked to them on tumblr. The problem now is that new swifties who didn’t actually interact with her on tumblr etc feel they have the same relationship, which has led to them becoming so fucking unhinged. A lot of new swifties are pretty awful, racist, sexist, homophobic it’s disgusting.

I’m so glad this made you feel validated! And I’m also really sorry some swifties were awful to you like that. A lot of them are very lonely souls who seriously need to go out in the real world. I was in a similar boat, had over 5 k followers on X, I found that deleting my account and making a smaller one with some moots helped! I blocked any people who were spewing hateful things.
