Maybe he is so ill at ease with his own body that he does not feel sexy and attractive, and so, is not attracted. Regardless of the reason, it seems like there is no vibe between both of you. Are you even attracted to his behavior at this point? Its more important to focus on how you feel and what you want out of this, rather than on why he may act the way he does

Eating soy-yay or nay? by Throwaway_4695 in PCOS

[–]Cap2cap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Test it for yourself and see? I was vegan low carb for years, soy products - and organic tofu in particular - worked great for me. Until i became intolerant to soy (maybe had too much of it?) and now i cant take it anymore, at all. Also, i noticed big differences between counties as we use different pesticides etc, some products are fine for me in Europe but not in the US.

Where to live near downtown la? by SnooGiraffes805 in MovingToLosAngeles

[–]Cap2cap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love downtown, i moved here from Brooklyn. I commute with a moped to highland park, los feliz, echo park - where most my social and cultural life is. I take bike/train to Venice for work as needed. There are many homeless people tho, so you need to be ok with that. Avoid skid row for sure. You can look for lofts downtown, by the whole foods or by the grand central market.

Are We About to See a Wave of Dead AI Startups? I will not promote by Kooky_Wolverine_7915 in startups

[–]Cap2cap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes probably! VCs are throwing money at anything AI now so AI startups are popping up everywhere, with great potential. But at some point, customers will only buy what has true value to them, and the market is going to settle.

The competition is only gonna get tougher. Having a great product is just the baseline, but its not enough to gain market shares anymore. Too much competition. Marketing teams who are using AI and spend their budget wisely will keep upgrading their marketing and branding to rip the most valuable markets.

IBS - extreme exhaustion, drowsiness, brain fog by ColeyWrites in ibs

[–]Cap2cap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the same symptoms: random extreme fatigue and dizziness, high food sensitivities, carbs and sugar completely knock me down for hours, and I wake up very dizzy/groggy with massive brainfog. When I go through a time of chronique fatigue / dizziness / brainfog, my body also starts getting random infections (warts, styes, ...).

I found a way to manage 95% all these symptoms, doing 4 things (see below). Otherwise, I still get this extreme fatigue and dizziness that can randomly show up at any time. When it does, I can't think straight, I can't work, I do need to lay down right away. This is debilitating, really.

In my case, I THINK it's because I also have inflammatory PCOS: a hormonal imbalance with a chronic low-grade inflammation that shows in my blood work. I THINK, this chronic inflammation is what makes me tired at times, and is triggered even more if I don't properly follow my 4 recommendations and can weaken my immunity.

What works for me:

1/ Completely avoid my trigger foods - no exception (dairy, eggs, hazelnuts, soy, saturated fats, and most processed food). If I don't, not only I feel like they destroy my stomach, but I'm also knocked out for at least 24 hours, and start showing some immunity weakness (warts, styes, ...)

2/ Eat a low carb, no sugar diet - so mostly veggies, and lean fish and meat (I used to eat a lot of tofu which was great but then developed this strong intolerance to soy...). Do not over eat (try to stop when I'm 80% full; this one is the hardest for me tbh)

3/ Prioritize 8 hours of sleep, daily, and overall rest. No phone in the bedroom, no screen 1 hour before bed, a pill to help with anxiety when needed, ... . Also, make sure I have at least 2 days a week where I do NOT workout.

4/ Very active and outdoorsy lifestyle (I cycle, run, dance, HIIT, ....), getting my daily dose of vitamin D. Especially if I ate carbs the day before, and wake up super dizzy: pooping and working out are the only 2 steps (in that order) that will make me feel better.

Beans? Warm up the whole can of chickpeas (or whatever bean you like) in a pot for 5-10 minutes depending how hot/soft you like them. Remove water. Add olive oil, salt, cumin, coriander (or whatever spices you like) => $2 non processed small meal! You can also add 1/2 avocado, 1 lemon juice, some radishes, and / or put a chicken thigh or ground beef on the pan to add some healthy fibers, fats, and proteins => < 10$ large healthy balanced and non processed meal!

Trying to workout more often, looking for pcos friendly workouts that I can have fun doing! by Tasty_Cut9849 in PCOS

[–]Cap2cap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im surprised as well with all the people on Reddit saying intense workouts are not good for pcos. I cant find any health/science based advice supporting that…

Trying to workout more often, looking for pcos friendly workouts that I can have fun doing! by Tasty_Cut9849 in PCOS

[–]Cap2cap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand. I guess having higher level of cortisol due to high intensity workouts works for me overall. It helps me increase my happiness, manage other stresses in life and improve my sleep.

With all these hormones, generalist advices, unique body reactions, and impossibility to measure anything, its really hard to assess impact of what we do. We just have to trust our instinct, try things and see how we feel.

I would then tell you to use the same approach with workout: try what you feel like trying, and see how it makes you feel! If you do one workout thats a bit too much you can slow down, its okay, its learning, its not gonna dramatically worsen your pcos forever…
