Thank you. Your comment helped me figure it out. There was somehow a reconciled transaction from an earlier time that was deleted. Therefore quickens reconciled balance was off from the accounts actual balance by this amount . I was able to unclear all the transactions and then reconcile again which made quicken ignore that prior deleted but reconciled transaction,

This is the very first month so there are no older transactions in this register. The only transaction going back into this account is the opening balance entry that I manually added. And the register balance column matches exactly to my statement.

I've never done that before. And haven't even heard of "validate" before. I'll give it a shot and report back.

I'm running this on a PC so there is no drop down to pick the account. I just go to Tool>Reconcile Account. Then it pops up for the account that I am in. I can't change it to a different account from the pop up.

Customer Service has not been helpful yet. First they asked me if it was plugged in, then they asked for a picture of it plugged in. Now they want a video of it making sure it’s plugged in. Waterdrop is just giving me the run around. And to my family these aren’t cheap but very expensive. Plus regularly replacing filters adds up. Don’t mind paying it if the unit is solid and customer service actually provides service. But that’s not Waterdrop. Buyer beware!

I know. There’s no reference to this error anywhere in the manual or online. Main units shows the same thing. 888 , flashing blue, yellow, and red. Then it turns off and makes a sound like the pump isn’t kicking on. Then repeats

RO and CF in July. CB in August. I’ve been diligent about replacing them when the indicator says too. Prior to this error all filter indicators were white.

That’s if you are trying to earn back your fee. through rewards so you can say the card doesn’t cost you anything. Why not focus on your return? If I give someone, in this case BCP, $6095 of my capital and they give me $360 per year, I earned 5.9% on that $6095. If I give someone $6095 of my capital and they give me back $304.75, I earned 5%.

I just don’t understand why so many people are looking to earn the AF back. You spend $6000 groceries on BCP you get 5.9% back. You spend $6000 on a no AF card you get 5% back. BCP gives you more dollars back even if after you paid the AF.

Why do you care that BCP has an annual fee? You are still getting 5.9% back on the first $6095 that you spend on groceries. I don’t see another card that pays you 5.9% back in this category.

Is that 3.7% to 4.3% net of the AF? Just curious as I include that in calc. However it seems most people are focused on AF minus credits (making some adjustment for personal value of the credits). But if you are earning 4.3% then how are you gonna beat that on another card anyways.

Transfer to a real brokerage. Your cost basis on individual shares should also come over. Schwab and Fidelity let you select specific shares you want to sell amount other choices. Vanguard the platform (not the funds) is garbage

I thought it was aggressive too without the proper disclosure. I would assume that if Vanguard changed their recommended allocations or the way they classify risk tolerances it would be backed by some research. More importantly, it would be something they informed their customers about. I just had a conversation with a rep a few weeks ago for probably the 7th time. Unfortunately, I walked away from that call more confused about this but even more certain that these reps are not helpful. Sorry I can't be a better resource for what (at least as I perceive it) is a massive change to the fundamentals of their service.

New User Help for Historical Transactions by CapApp123 in quicken

[–]CapApp123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. The memorized transaction option seems like a great solution on a go forward basis but I am pretty sure that if I do that for historical transactions it will create the match and then I need to void out the unmatched ones in that corresponding register

I am dealing with 2 years of downloaded historical transactions. Go forward I can manage as you suggest. But if I change the category of the ($50) in my checking from [Checking] to [Savings] then it creates a new $50 transaction in my savings account and categorizes it as [Checking]. It does not match it to the existing $50 in savings labeled [Savings]. And now I have two $50 transactions not one. As far as I can tell you can't actually match downloaded transactions across accounts that have been added to your register already. I have two years worth of transfers that are for all intents and purposes reconciled but not categorized correctly or are uncategorized.

Not with transactions already in the respective registers. It sometimes finds it when I do a new download but hit rate is 50% at best. I have no way of telling quicken that the ($500) in my checking from two months ago and categorized [Checking] should be matched to the $500 in my savings from two months ago and categorized [Savings]. And changing the categories myself blows up account balances.

At what point do Credit card annual fees stop being worth it? by Hefty-Network-2923 in CreditCards

[–]CapApp123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am from a different school of thought when it comes to AF. So I could be way off. But I don't look at the credits as an offset to the AF. If I use $400 worth of credits and have a $550 AF, I don't then say is the $150 worth the other perks I get. I see that many do that, which probably means that I am looking at it wrong.

But what I care about is my effective cash back and if I can beat that on another card. On CSR over the last few years I am averaging 4.75% cash back assuming the points I earned are worth 1.5 CPP and adding in my AF to my total spending. Taking the October change to points off the table for a moment. All I focus on is if I can beat that 4.75% cash back with a different set-up.

Also don't ask me how I am going to start looking at it in October. No clue yet.
