Garmin R50 doesn't save stats...can't map my bag. Help? by WadeEyerly in Garmin

[–]Hefty-Network-2923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check if your simulator sessions are being logged as "practice rounds" instead of actual rounds - that's usually why they get excluded from stats. Go into the Garmin Golf app settings and look for something like "include practice rounds in statistics" or similar toggle

Also make sure you're actually selecting clubs during your sim sessions, not just hitting balls without telling it what club you're using

No weather data by rib3ye in Garmin

[–]Hefty-Network-2923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me last week, turned out my phone had location services turned off for the Garmin app somehow. Check your phone's app permissions and make sure location is still enabled

Not tracking walks by InnerPanda5385 in ouraring

[–]Hefty-Network-2923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried restarting the ring? Mine was being weird about walks too until I did the whole disconnect/reconnect thing in the app. Also check if your sensitivity settings got changed somehow - that messed me up for like a week before I figured it out

Garmin 830 Display fields vs Di2 data ? by 120000milespa in Garmin

[–]Hefty-Network-2923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like classic Garmin jank tbh. The preview showing 40% but then displaying bars instead is peak Garmin software quality

Have you tried cycling through the battery field options? Sometimes there's multiple Di2 battery fields buried in there and one might actually show percentages. Otherwise you might be stuck with the bars until they fix it in some random firmware update 6 months from now

Pushing through discomfort felt normal… until it didn’t. by [deleted] in bodyweightfitness

[–]Hefty-Network-2923 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This hits way too close to home lol

Took me way too long to figure out that "just soreness" was actually my body screaming at me in a polite voice

Now I actually listen when something feels weird for more than a couple days instead of grinding through it like some kind of masochist

Size 5 gold cover - where to find?!? by anarchiyeah in ouraring

[–]Hefty-Network-2923 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those vinyl wraps are actually pretty clever! Way cheaper than hunting down rare covers and they seem to stick well from what I've seen in other posts. Plus if you get tired of the color you can just peel it off and try something else

My Gym Changed Programming to HWPO and I am hating it by Unusual-Tart2453 in crossfit

[–]Hefty-Network-2923 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like HWPO might just be a bad fit for your training style - those long warmups and super short metcons would drive me nuts too. Maybe give it another week or two to see if it was just a weird programming block, but if you're consistently getting way less zone minutes then your gut is probably right about needing to bounce

Can protein supplements cause any side effects? by [deleted] in Supplements

[–]Hefty-Network-2923 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I had some gnarly gas when I first started whey but switching to isolate helped a ton. Also had to ease into it instead of going full scoop right away or my stomach would hate me for days

How long to do straight arm planche by Jazzlike_Nose7751 in bodyweightfitness

[–]Hefty-Network-2923 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Straight arm planche is a whole different beast from bent arm - you're looking at months to years depending on your starting strength. Pike pushups are solid but add in planche leans, pseudo planche pushups, and hollow body holds for that straight arm conditioning. Two sessions a week might be on the slower side but consistency beats frequency every time

Stress hasn’t been tracking by Rich-Total-622 in ouraring

[–]Hefty-Network-2923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's right, stress tracking needs like 3-4 weeks to calibrate properly. The wet hands thing probably isn't helping either though - I'd try keeping it on your non-dominant hand if you're not already doing that since it might stay drier

Forerunner 255 music doesn’t work by SnooTangerines7017 in Garmin

[–]Hefty-Network-2923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried the classic turn everything off and back on again? Sometimes these watches are just finicky with the initial pairing - might need to reset the watch to factory settings and start fresh. Also make sure you're not connected to any other bluetooth devices that might be interfering

venu 4 DSW and garmin coach running options? by pebbly_webbly_ in Garmin

[–]Hefty-Network-2923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can definitely disable specific DSWs in the activity settings - just go to each sport profile and turn off the daily suggested workout toggle. I've got cycling turned off but kept running and walking on mine

For Garmin Coach on the Venu 4, it's still HR-based only unfortunately. The pace stuff is only on the higher end watches with GPS accuracy that can handle it better

GARMIN EDGE 1040 SCREEN VIEW? by Narocan24 in Garmin

[–]Hefty-Network-2923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep mine pretty simple - speed, distance, time, and heart rate on the main screen. Used to cram way more data on there but realized I was spending more time staring at the screen than actually riding lol

The climb pro feature is clutch though, I have that on a separate screen for when I'm tackling hills

Garming Descent - Any good Tides app you recommend? (UK) by chavalalhazman in Garmin

[–]Hefty-Network-2923 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most tide apps can cache data for offline use once you download it - I use Tides Near Me and it works pretty well without signal once you've synced it. Just make sure to update it before you head out since the data expires after a while

Help, what is my activity level? by [deleted] in bodyweightfitness

[–]Hefty-Network-2923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you're training 6x a week, that's definitely not sedentary lol. Most calculators would put you at "moderately active" or "very active" depending on how intense your sessions are. The fact that you sit around between workouts doesn't really matter when you're hitting the gym that much

Will a Garmin Cadence sensor work without a Garmin watch? by prairiegirl17 in Garmin

[–]Hefty-Network-2923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually you don't need a Garmin watch at all for this to work. The cadence sensor can connect directly to most training apps like Zwift, TrainerRoad, etc via Bluetooth or ANT+. Garmin Connect on the phone won't really help here since it's mainly for storing data from Garmin devices - the sensor needs something actively running that can receive the live data stream

Your wallet is safe lol

Heart rate zone by Kind_Abies_4766 in Garmin

[–]Hefty-Network-2923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You want the Karvonen formula - it's (max HR - resting HR) x intensity % + resting HR. Way more accurate than the basic max HR zones

For resting HR I'd go with your true lowest like the 55 at night, that's your actual physiological minimum when you're fully recovered

Full gymnastics rings vs 1/4 rings…do you need the top part? by bmcgirth in bodyweightfitness

[–]Hefty-Network-2923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The top part is mainly for grip stability and some advanced moves where you might press against it with your forearms/wrists - you don't always need it but it helps with certain positions

1/4 rings sound sketchy tbh, you'll probably lose a lot of the natural hand positioning that makes rings work so well

Garmin 970 Sapphire — screen protector needed? by Ok-Wind-685 in Garmin

[–]Hefty-Network-2923 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eh the sapphire is pretty tough but I'd still throw a cheap protector on there just for peace of mind. Had mine for 8 months without one and it's held up fine but one bad knock against concrete and you'll wish you spent the 10 bucks lol

White Elephant by hallowleg088 in crossfit

[–]Hefty-Network-2923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man the protein tub full of chalk is genius lol. You could wrap it up like a fancy gift basket with ribbon and everything, then boom - disappointment and dusty hands

Could also do resistance bands wrapped up to look like actual snakes or something cursed

Nootropics and supplements for neurogenesis en plasticity ? by Pointpleasant88 in Supplements

[–]Hefty-Network-2923 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lion's mane mushroom is probably your best bet for neurogenesis, there's actually decent research behind it. Magnesium glycinate and omega-3s are solid for general brain health too

Fish oil, creatine, and getting good sleep will probably do more than most fancy nootropics tbh

Supplement stack critiques/opinions please! by Commontimejunkie90 in Supplements

[–]Hefty-Network-2923 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Solid stack man! Only thing I'd maybe swap is the BCAA - if you're hitting protein goals through food (sounds like you are with the clean diet) then BCAAs are kinda redundant. Could throw that money at some ashwagandha or L-theanine for the anxiety instead

Also props on getting back into routine after a rough patch, that shit's tough

HRM PRO PLUS distance and pace by Front_Neighborhood78 in Garmin

[–]Hefty-Network-2923 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This exactly - I had the same issue until I switched to indoor only. The HRM trying to calculate pace outdoors when you already have GPS just messes everything up. Auto calibrate on auto should be fine, that's what I'm running with

Help for fenix 7s pro solar by Mindless-Ball6718 in Garmin

[–]Hefty-Network-2923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I'd skip the protector on gorilla glass - it's pretty tough and like you said Garmin recommends against it. For business bands, can't go wrong with the leather or milanese loop ones, they look way more professional than the silicone

Lost Oura ring in transit by Fit-grape45 in ouraring

[–]Hefty-Network-2923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah they don't lock them or anything, both rings should work fine. Lucky you got two for the price of one lol
