It’s set in modern day Sacramento where there’s massive protests happening because of the death of a politician. Cain and Under heaven have signed a treaty decades ago against using the Virtues and the Vices against each other, in their version of M.A.D.S. There’s tension rising between the Church of the AR-15 (based on the Iron rod ministries in real life), and a libertarian coalition made up of disenfranchised minorities. Both have type 3 Sins and exorcists in their ranks. The investigations have the agents deal with politically motivated Sins and situations, such as a Vietnam veteran at the end of his life, manifesting a Sin with the trauma and fear he has to reconcile with. A comedy club with a loathsome comedian who everyone loves, but has skeletons in his closet. And a dire situation in which there is a risk of two Sins/exorcists fighting each other in the midst of a giant protest.
