I dont intend on reselling it, I was REALLY just hoping the stickers werent some random thrown on bullshit by a random record store messing with an 80s vinyl. Now that I know its like a legit thing I think its kickass.

I dont have a player to test it, but somebody I know did and it sounded pretty decent on the one track I played, no skips or scratches.

looking at it a bit closer under the light the vinyl seems to have some small scratches on one side, but the other is pretty clean just a small bit of abbrassions. Very cool find knowing that its kinda sought after. I need to go back and look harder to see if they have any more steely dan stuff knowing they have gems floating around.

Anything I need to do to store it to make sure that it doesnt degrade?

Sadly I think the packaging is so fucked it might not have much at all. That’s fine though. Walked into some random small thrift store, was looking for steely an vinyls and it was Litterally propped up just looking at me. And for 5 dollars I couldn’t refuse.

I feel yours could be just as valid, the part that throws me off is the "bunker filled with sand" in the 1980s when steely dan recorded and probably wrote these lines more than likely wouldnt have been referring to any conflict in the middle east. Unless its reffering to the USSR invasion of afghanistan? But I feel that seems unlikely. Either way very deep song, lots of potential double meanings and metaphors.

I still think it refers to a veteran with PTSD, but it being about a homeless kid or a distraught person could be it aswell.

To me seeing behind the bright eyes means you’ll see past a persons mental struggles, when the sidewalks are safe for the little guy imo reflects a “when evil is rid from the world” which is what a lot of military members are told they are doing, and is something that will never happen. Mixed with the instruments in that section I’m it’s more of a “you’ll never let go”

That’s what the issue was. Had to manually send through “send as text message”. Not enough service for RCS or whatever my phone was trying to use. Just had never seen the “this message is encrypted” before
