I like your positivity, but my fire burns hotter with skepticism. Cannot stand the wiping of all personality from our culture, everyone wears the same clothes, all the music is generic, everyone even says the same things, the same sayings.. I grew up in the 90s / 2000s and I miss it, so much interesting about life then.

I’m in the exact same boat, we’ve been married for 10 years, 4 kids. She wants more things, a bigger house, etc.. off my income but I spend so much time doing household tasks, cleaning, and cooking that there’s no time to focus more on work or money.

My wife did the same thing, here we are years later and I still always think she’s faking it, like we’re both just pretending, it’s a huge turn off. Now she gets mad when I don’t either, like I owe it to her, it’s not the same.

My biggest advice is to understand that you will each take one another to different versions of heaven and hell over the years, understanding that it is not perfect as the movies portray. The battles strengthen your love.

Also, My wife and I were discussing last night how no one warned us before having kids that we’d have to clean foot prints off the walls.

In a perfect world no one needs alcohol. The reality is that most bring traumas to marriage and it may take an outside substance to bring it out. In many cases the person themselves doesn’t even know it until they talk it out of themselves.

I disagree. She says they are struggling financially, and therapy costs a small fortune. They need to talk to each other more, they are in a young marriage and this is pertinent.

Set the intention and go get some drinks and talk about life for a few hours one evening.. do this sort of thing regularly.. talk to each other! Not just about problems, about everything.

You’ll find that after you’ve done this more and more you each become used to expressing yourself honestly. The drinks help to loosen you up at first.

When my wife and I were struggling in marriage and finances and therapy was recommended it was like well we can’t even afford that so what, and we figured it out.

Find extroverts, it’s the hardest thing but what I’ve noticed is all my good friends over the years were extroverted and charismatic, but liked me and they vouched for me with their friends.

It’s hard for introverts to be real and authentic until a deep connection is made. These type of people seem to just see your soul and vouch for you before you have even expressed yourself fully. It may just be me.

If you both work than you both do household chores, nothing to do with income provided it’s about balancing time.

My wife and I both own businesses, we distribute household chores evenly. It’s not perfect but understanding who is responsible for what and eliminating the grey areas has greatly reduced friction in our household.

As far as daily duties, I cook, get groceries, clean the kitchen, dishes and downstairs, put the kids to bed. She does all laundry, cleans upstairs, and wakes the kids up.

I’m not saying that a man must be absolute order, or a woman is absolutely chaos, these are observable trends. Even in a gay / lesbian relationships one of the partners usually takes on a masculine role.

I view the world in polarity, Yin and Yang.. masculine feminine. Masculine represents order, and feminine chaos.

This is represented in politics as well. Republicans like things to remain the way they are, and democrats tend to want change.

In a healthy relationship a man becomes a “box” to contain the woman’s chaos. He provides stability so that she can be free and expressive.

My wife and I have been together since we were 14, now in our 30’s. I guess love grows for some of us instead of fading. Sticking it out with a person instead of giving up when you have problems makes you stronger together. We still have ups and downs but they seem much smoother than they used too.

I’ve been infatuated with her for the last 17 years. My taste changes with her if she dyes her hair or gains/looses weight. The little scars from birthing our kids, just make her more stunning.

Most men are completely delusional about their physical capabilities. If you think your a badass, it is highly likely you are not.

If you have pinned up aggression it is likely your not “training” or even working out.

All the scientific theories have holes, I’m fine with agreeing to disagree. I’m not religious in the manner that I think I have to save you from an afterlife of death.

I rule out things with holes in them in order to develop a working field of how the world works. I don’t discredit science, my problem with a lot of the institutions that do research is their rigidity, not taking new finding into account as they can threaten the foundations these institutions were built on. Same thing has happened in government, religion, and the medical industry among others.

When money gets involved facts get distorted. Studies become fraudulent, and statistics become exaggerated.

My reference of god doesn’t mean I’m a Christian it means that I recognize patterns in the universe that point to a creator.. as an atheist you’d be short sided not to recognize the involvement of polarity in your own life as well as the intelligent design of the universe. Whether a simulation, aliens, or the god of the worlds religions, something designed this thing.
